While we are waiting for our notices and knives, can one (or more) of you Buck afficionados out there tell me; 1) what year this Buck was made, and
2) what is the handle material??
Thanks in advance!!

Beautiful knife. I can't find any info on the scales.

Thanks Makael! I assume the "X" tells you 1990??

Very nice. The X is what indicates it's 1990. And just a guess but the scales look ivory.

Those scales are home grown... not factory. Look at the shield.
The 89-91 jigged brown bone does not look like that at all.
I've not seen bone crazed like that. Antler or ivory perhaps.
Under magnification, bone will have some porosity, ivory may show some grain.

The knife isn't mine, but I will get the owner to do a hot pin test.
Thanks for the markings chart, Makael!!

That's what made me think ivory.

There is a grain to it... Does Reg Ivory crack against the grain? Just curious... I guess that's a question for SHB.... I know the Mammoth Ivory does, I guess all would overtime?

pins look reset to me, as in knocked out and reset in. am I looking at it wrong?

reminds me of ivory or mammoth type material from the look of the scales.

I see what you mean about the pins, I agree about that and the Mammoth Ivory....Maybe a Mammoth tooth?
