What CDs , albums, iTunes, etc are you all finding hard to put away for any length of time?

Kings Of Leon Because of the Times
The third great album in a row for this kickin rock band.

The Silos Cuba
Just an all-time favorite from the late 80s. I love "re-discovering" this album
every few years or so.

They Might Be Giants Lincoln
Same as above. Their best album.

Camper Van Beethoven Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart
One of the top ten alternative rock albums ever.

The Rolling Stones Through the Past Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2)
Some of their best hits on this one.

I'm really in a labor activist mode right now, so I'm listening to Anne Feeney and also Peter, Paul and Mary.

PP&M - In These Times:

UNION MEDLEY:
YOU GOTTA GO DOWN AND JOIN THE UNION
PUT IT ON THE GROUND
UNION MAID
WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED
WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?

HAVE YOU BEEN TO JAIL FOR JUSTICE?
JESUS IS ON THE WIRE
DON'T LAUGH AT ME
WAYFARING STRANGER
HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING / THE GREAT STORM IS OVER
INVISIBLE PEOPLE
OF THIS WORLD
SOME WALLS
ALL GOD’S CRITTERS
IT’S MAGIC
OH, HAD I A GOLDEN THREAD

HAVE YOU BEEN TO JAIL FOR JUSTICE?
(Anne Feeney)

Was it Cesar Chavez or Rosa Parks that day?
Some say Dr. King or Ghandi
Set them on their way
No matter who your mentors are
It’s pretty plain to see
That if you’ve been to jail for justice
You’re in good company

Have you been to jail for justice?
I want to shake your hand
‘Cause sitting in and laying down
Are ways to take a stand
Have you sung a song for freedom
Or marched that picket line?
Have you been to jail for justice?
Then you’re a friend of mine

Union Maid sung by Anne Feeney, but written by Woody Gutherie

Union Maid

There once was a union maid, she never was afraid
Of goons and ginks and company finks and the deputy sheriffs who made the raid.
She went to the union hall when a meeting it was called,
And when the Legion boys come 'round
She always stood her ground.

Oh, you can't scare me, I'm sticking to the union,
I'm sticking to the union, I'm sticking to the union.
Oh, you can't scare me, I'm sticking to the union,
I'm sticking to the union 'til the day I die.

This union maid was wise to the tricks of company spies,
She couldn't be fooled by a company stool, she'd always organize the guys.
She always got her way when she struck for better pay.
She'd show her card to the National Guard
And this is what she'd say

You gals who want to be free, just take a tip from me;
Get you a man who's a union man and join the ladies' auxiliary.
Married life ain't hard when you got a union card,
A union man has a happy life when he's got a union wife.

In Solidarity,

TJ, Union Maid
