Whatever happened to the Kandahar

Whatever did happen to this knife model, I know Emerson made it for the movie Tears of the Sun, and there was a lot of interest in it at the time. I think it was even offered to members of the Emerson Collector's club on the Emerson website, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while. Will it ever hit the market for regular joe's or did they decide not to produce it or what? If anyone could set me straight it's much appreciated.

IIRC the knife wasnt made for the movie it was already around and had been a while before the movie was made.

i have seen them for sale occasionally on the net. have never heard them associated w/the ECA in any way FWIW, maybe though.

anyway if ya want one ya can probably find one, most emerson custom fixed blades arent near the price of the folders, most FB i have seen were ~$2-300 vs the folders $750 and up up up.

If you want one call EKI you may still be able to get on the list as they are still listed on the ECA web site. I got mine last april. The Kandahar is a very cool weapon and I really like it.
