so I have a tough decision to make with in the next 24 hours or so...... I have to buy a new knife.....
I have narrowed it down to 2 knives. the benchmade 520 and the BM 420 resistor.
both can be had for the same price and both have similar features. I'v never had the opportunity to hold a 420 yet but i have played around with a 520 a little and really liked it. so right now I'm leaning towards the 520 because I have held it before and know i like it. so my question is would you recommend the 420 over the 520 and why.

They're both useful designs, the 520 with a better utility blade shape while I would give the Resistor the edge for self-defense purposes. The 420 also looks more stylish IMO.

Given the choice of those two, I'd pick the 420. It just looks more 'interesting'. I haven't handled either of those two knives personally, but I'm happy with the ergonomics of other Benchmade knives.

Good Luck with your decision,
-Bob

I have a 420 and love it. It is a bit thick but you would never know it in the pocket.

The whole reason I bouught the 420 was to Rave it. (my Wave mod) Being that it has the elevated area on it for the thumb rest it was a perfect knife for it and it works smoother than any other Waved knife I have used. Even the factory ones. (Sorry Ernie but the axis lock is just so smooth it is hard to beat.)

I've done two now and both are a joy to carry and use. Truthfully though the 420 is a great knife on its own.

thanks for your help. i just ordered a 420 along with a few other goodies from new graham....should be here in a few days!
