What's a 'Gent's Knife'?

Small and dressy knife used by "Gentleman".
"Go to meetin knife" ect, ect, ect :)

It's generally a smaller locking folder, with dressier scale and if it's got em' bolsters. Good examples, Cris Reeves Mnandi?, William Henry Knives Lancet, with peal handles, some of the BM Pardues, and lots of Customs.

A knife you would feel comfortable carrying and using in polite company.

In some respects, just about any small folder will do, but there is also implied some dressy elegance in addition to simply being small. The size aspect of it comes from the fact that "as a gentleman", you're not expecting to have to chop down trees, build a shelter, or field dress a deer - or even a squirrel for that matter. Thus a small, elegant knife is called for. In the distant past, it may have even been a fixed blade, but these days, its always a folder...
