I want to get a flashlite . Maybe not so much a knife cause I have alot already . But what do you guys carry as a combo ? I would like a flashlight that is built like a tank and is very brite and can be used as a weapon if I need it . All the ones I seen in my area are small . We have the mag lights but I want something brighter and better , Any help would be great ! '
Thanks

Take a look at the Surefire E2e at TAD Gear with the optional T.I.D.
It is a toothed impact device that screws onto the bezel of the E2,E1, and the Inova X5T. They also may a Kydex belt holster for the E2e to accomodate the larger bezel with the T.I.D. attached. Here is the web address:
http://www.tadgear.com/x-treme gear/flashlights main/gg&g_t_i_d__for_surefire_flashlights.htm

If that's not to your liking, go to Walmart and get a 3 D-cell stainless steel Garrity flashlight out of the clearance aisle for $7.95.

Pretty much anything Surefire makes is a tank in flashlights, I recommend the E2E 1st, then if you want lower cost look at a G2 both excellant lights. Don't discount Streamlights new Tasklights they kickbutt also.

I particularly like my Spyderco Delica FRN PE and Surefire E2e-HA combination. They make a nice couple :D

Hmmmm.....looks like I lean to the less exotic
light/ knife combo.

FWIW, I use the common mini mag light / supertool
favorite knife combo for all that I do. While not
not a designer name they all are bulletproof tools.
They also are easy / low cost to replace. :D

My favs?

Weapon: MagLite, the big one with the D batteries

Bright light: tactical lights by Surefire or Streamlight. You can pick up a Scorpion for around $25 now. Great little lights.

The old SureFire 9P makes a great impact weapon...Match it with a SS SE Spyderco Police model, and you're set to go.

Amen to that! All those batteries will put some hurt on somebody! If you want to use a flashlight as a real weapon that would probably be the best way to go. As for the knife - just about everything goes with a mag lite.

E2/E2e (w/ TID) with an MT LCC is a nice combo (that's what I carry). If you want an LED you can go with the KL1 conversion for the E2/E2e. I just picked up a couple of the streamlights and that 2D version is a solid piece of work. It's shorter than the 2D mag, but you could still work someone over with it. Plus is has a lanyard (unlike the Mag) so it's a bit more secure and you could swing it.

I carry an ARC LS and a Griptilian. I used to carry a Surefire E1e with the KL1 head. The ARC LS and E1e/KL1 are both too small to use as an impact weapon, but you can wrap your fist around the LS.

BTW between tightwad and thos of us who are not so tight there are some cool drop-ins for the AA maglite. check out www.candlepowerforums.com :)

surefire /EKI collaboration C2 and CQC8 is tops for me.

while the TID might be ok w/a Z2 or Z3 or M3/etc, i found it not the best on the E2e, makes the E2e too heavy imho, the lightweight of the E2e is 1 of the reasons i like it so, and this thing really makes it heavy......... didnt like it myself
