ive heard on here before u can get older imperial or Camillus knives with carbon steel blades used on the auction site pretty cheap....what models to look out for?

That's a wide-open question. So many choices!

The Old Timer 340T is a nice little knife but that's just one out of hundreds.

Price will vary with condition of the used knife. That makes the question difficult to answer.

Look for a USA Old Timer. Most of those are 1095 carbon steel. Some were stainless; most of those are easy to spot because of the Schrade+ tang stamp.

The 34OT is the most common. The 8OT is a bit larger and also very common.
I've noticed there isn't as much demand for the smaller models so they tend to sell lower. 104OT, 108OT, 12OT, 18OT... You can likely get a new / unused example of these for under $30.

These are fun to collect and cheap, some just a few bucks. Small but it is a usable knife. I forgot my knife one day and had to put up a gazebo. I have one on my keychain and it proved worthy in opening a bunch of cardboard boxes and taking them down.

navihawk...what knives are those?...carbon steel?

They are carbon steel. Wicked sharp too. I have out of them all, like three different variations, some have half stops, some don't. Different swedges on the blades too. There must have been several makers of these in the day. Not one has a tang stamp to identify with. Someday I'll find more info on them, whether it be in a display board or article. My best guess on the makers would be Imperial and Colonial for two maybe. Not shell handles either. The quality is just great, and the one with the shield is the only one I've ever seen with a shield. Sometimes I think they were made by the cutlers who worked at the different companies to make for fun, but there's too many out there.
