OK pretty much what the title says:
You guys have been pretty cool in the past when I asked a naïve question such as this, so please go easy this time as well, but after doing several searches I can't seem to find out what a long pull means. So.....

It is a long slot cut into the side of the blade to allow you to open it. As opposed to a "nail nick" or "crescent pull" which is a smaller curved slot.

It's the thing you put your fingernail in to pull open the knife. :)

This is a nail nick (crescent pull):

Both of these knives have long pulls on the main blades, and nail nicks on the secondary blades:

I would have guessed a longer version of a short pull. Ironically, though I had no idea what I was really talking about, I would have been right. Huh...

BTW, I love long pulls now that I know what it means. I have a couple older blades with them. So easy to grab the blade.

DOH!, to simple to be obvious I guess, thanks a lot jc57, nice pics as well.
Appreciate it!

So so tempting - but I would get absolutely beaten up by the mods.

The long pulls will become a favourite if you get the chance to own a knife with that option. Great design- simple but so so effective.

Why Duncan! You, posting such that I have to take out the shillelagh. May it never be. (and it never has been.)

I have always found the pre-teen in me giggles at this term. I have never mentioned it because I thought myself the only cheeky child in this sub-forum. I'm glad you are as immature as I am Duncan :D

Campbell, that's funny stuff. Suffice it to say that I feel fortunate that my first answer was a non-abusive one from jc57...and an accurate one with great pics!
