I'm trying to find a really light weight lockblade for a friend of mine. Something w/ a pocket clip and a blade between 3-4" would be ideal. Can anyone recommend something under $100 (less is better)froma respected manufacturer that would be a good durable user? Any help would be great. Thanks.
-Cam

In something a ltttle larger, the Gerber Gator is pretty light for its size, and is well within your price range.

Like my "neighbor" knzn said, the Endura and Delica are solid choices, even if I do prefer the now discontinued Calypso Jr.:)

Buck has a full series of knives with lightweight handles, pocket clips, and blade variations (straight or partial serrations) known as BUCK LITES. Check out their website for more info. These knives are well within the price range you mentioned and are readily available through a variety of markets. And Buck is famous for their Customer Service and Lifetime Warranty...

You can't go wrong with a lightweight Spyderco
Delica or Pro Grip.

Incidentally, you might get even more response to your question over in the "Blade Discussion Forum." This being the "Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades" forum, is pretty focused on traditional folders and fixed blades.

Mnblade- you're right. It was late, what can I say? Still, I've gotten some very helpful suggestions and I'm grateful to all of you. These leads are just what I needed.
-Cam

A Spyderco CPM440V FRN Native would be my choice...solid lockup...quality steel...lightweight...great edge holding...and a very good value.

Like the post subject says, I recommend the FRN Delica. I have one myself and it has a great weight/durability ratio.

Al Mar Eagle, Falcon, and Hawk. Some of these are available with the talon blade but more ewxpensive. I think the 4 inch model only weighs around 2 oz. All of the ones I have seen use black micarta for the handles. Big D1

VidKnight,
No pocket clip but you might want to check out A.G.Russell's Featherweight at 1.5 oz it truly is light.

I second both the Al Mar eagle / falcon or the
russell ligh wgt. I carry an Al Mar eagle light
wgt and find it the be a very pleasant knife to
carry and use. It just never seem to be wrong
no matter how I hold / use it in daily use.

The eagle (and maybe the smaller falcon) just seem
to appear in your hand , make the cut , and
then disappear back into your pocket. Neat really.
They are so light that you never feel them.

Now don't mistake either knife as a wanna be
ninja tough guy blade because they are not at all.
What they are is a darn good everyday do any chore
urban blade. :D

Get any one of the three and you'll not go wrong.
