Whats a swedge?

Can anyone tell me real quick what a swedge is? I am ordering a TB and Kathy wants to know do I want a swedge or not, Bluntedgedinstrument wants to know what a swedge is??? lol. Thanks.

Its that beveled area on the spine/back of the blade near the tip. :thumbup:

In this thread, the first set of black blades appear not to have it, while the next set of moss green blades do.

Is the top grind in the spine, near the tip of the blade. Sometimes is called a false edge.

Of course I went for the swedge, it adds an unlimited amount of awesomeness to an already AWESOME knife. I think I have just raised the bar on awesomery!!!! Muddy blade, black/orange magnum handle, SWEDGE, rounded butt, no serrations.

I just like the look of a slight swedge on a clip point, or even along most of the spine a la Tom Krein.

A swedge also supposedly helps the TB fit in a Spec-Ops small sheath without heating the kydex liner. I am about to find out when my sheaths arrive.
