Great folder made by Tom Mayo, it's the only knife I carry.

Tom's site is:

http://www.mayoknives.com

also want to add its a frame lock in design...very strong lock..the Talonite is an alloy that is corrosion proof...( no rust ever!)

It is the knife I too carry every day....very smooth action...and Tom makes several styles or will custom build you one...

check his web site out if you haven't already....

...by the way Jerry Hossom is a custom knife maker himself , very fine fixed blades that you will see on these forums also...(just not making folders himself yet:) )

so that is a pretty good reference in itself....

A Mayo TNT is my everyday carry also. These are custom, hand-made knives that have absolutely perfect fit and finish. Tom Mayo is also one of the nicest people to deal with.

It is a knife I dream of, pretend I own one, wish I owned many, pray one falls from the sky, someone drops one, Tom Mayo likes me and feels sorry for me and "gifts me" one or so DOZEN. It's an EDC, it's a collector piece, it's a masterpiece ( so far I need three) it is a knife of utter beauty (four). It cuts, slices and if would bitch, moan and complain I would have married it 24 years ago and still remained the submissive Hubby I am. Oh a TNT, what is it. I don't know, never owmed one........wolf:(

You'd think that with all this build-up you might be dissapointed -- but I got mine yesterday and I'm certain you wouldn't.

There are so many great custom knives available.

But there is an easy way to limit your choices; Get to know some of the great makers. Correspond with them, or better yet meet them in person and handle some of their blades in their presence so that you can develop of a better understanding of both the piece and the maker.

A few weekends ago I finally had the privilege of both meeting Tom Mayo at Blade West, and handling his TnT's. Tom is one solid, friendly, entertaining individual, and his TnT's are simply exsquisite. Each one is.....perfect. They lock up beautifully, and disengage equally as well. His materials are first class. His styles beg to find a home within your pocket or waistband. His blades are elegant yet obviously heavy duty. Each is ground to absolute perfection and smooth as silk. His blades are no doubt primary daily carries of those who own them. Hell, Jerry Hossom makes some of the best blades around, and even Jerry carries a TnT, so there's very little left to say.
Except that Tom assures me that he is more than willing to make an XXL Tanto TnT for me, and I will be ready for such an awesome folder very soon.
Tom, you and your blades are most impressive. It was my pleasure to watch your table for you while you went for a walk. :)

BTW, I TOLD you that Larry would love that wonderful little hawksbill! And I was RIGHT, so HA! :p

A knife that cuts no better than a 45 dollar blade had with the same blade shape and sharpness(both of which, I might add, are easily attainable).
