Truth be told, I'm actually reluctant to call this new arrival a MOASH, as it weighs in somewhere between a HOGFSH and a MOASH. The seller made a wild claim that this bad boy weighed in at 5/8" thick!!! Well, I knew better than to believe that, but still...

Anyhow, she IS a beauty and it'll sure be nice not to get up early and follow the mailman through the neighborhood anymore!

steelnut, my first MOASH is ~.345" and this new one is ~.320", still a bit thicker than a HOGFSH, but not by much.

If that was the one I ebay I believe it went for 900

I was under the impression that is was not a MOASH but a HOGFSH .. the dudes measurments on that blade were fubar ..

If it really is one you got a pretty good deal considering the MOASH is worth 1100-1200

Ohh.. just read the last post.. You paid a fair price for the HOGFSH grim.. I fetched mine up for 100 more.. :grumpy:

Now for the love of god use one of them.. You won't regret it.. It is my favorite chopper of all time !!

Yeah, the guy listed it as a 5/8" thick Steel Heart E LE...

...Which lead me to believe that even if it isn't quite THAT thick, it would at least weigh in at MOASH thickness. Nobody would have realistically expected a 5/8 chunck if INFI to show up at their doorstep, lol!

Yea thats for sure.
Either way nice score. Those are easily some of the finest Busses ever made............ No doubt they will go the way of the SHBM as for secondary mkt. price goes.

Oh yea Grim, FYI:

Check the inner part of the talon holes on those DC FSHs .
When I received mine the inner part of all three holes had a good amount of rust.
It is easy to overlook so heads up on that. I don't like having rust on my $1000 blades :D
I used PB blaster to fix the problem.

Yeah, someone actually mentioned that yesterday in that other thread asking about DC blades. I went and looked at my MOASH and SOW SE and saw they were full of dust, I thought it was rust at first and just about had a heart attack!

Maybe he was a bit confused. 5/16 is .3125 inches. That's close enough to .32 that I'd give the guy the benefit of the doubth that 5/8 was a brain-fart.

aaaannnnhhhhhh!
wrong answer, piglet!
the correct answer is beating the SNOT out of a moash!
but you get half credit for having two, i guess.
nice score, and yes i AM jealous.

From Uncle Jarvis...

"Were you the seller ???"

No, I was not the seller. I found Busse about the time that the game wardens were hitting their prime. I have neither the funds nor the time to hunt for anything older.

I was just looking for a rational explanation for a rather egregious error. Like I said, 5/16 is pretty close to 0.32, and it is not outside the realm of reason that an over-eager seller typed and submitted before thinking.

Ever do something before thinking? Its hapened to me.

By the way, if you are ever looking for a good home for your NICKs...
