What's Concealex?

Hmm, hope I'm not being a vocabulary jackass here, but isn't it supposed to be "faux Carbon Fiber Kydex"?

A faux-pas is a social blunder.

If I spoke French, I would explain that faux is 'false' and faux pas is a 'false step' but after seeing Cold Steel describe the plastic handles on their new Stockman as 'faux jigged bone', that is, 'false false stag', I give up. :D

A friend of mine had spent a summer in France, and picked up a bit of the language. Returning to England, he was confronted with a customs agent who wanted to know if he had anything to declare. He did, but didn't want to, so he fired up his new-found French and tried to double-talk his way through. Finally the customs agent insisted on seeing his passport, and exploded: "You're an American, man! Speak English !!!"

Concealex is a type of prophylactic, useful for certain types of covert maneuvers.

Concealex and kydex are very similar thermoplastics, with the main difference being Concealex has a tad more acrylic, giving it a slightly higher Rockwell. Both come in any number of colors and some patterns. Black "haircell" Concealex looks just like kydex, but with a little richer color. Kydex is easier to work with, but many sheathmakers, myself included, prefer the results they get with Concealex.
