and the new Dragonfly 2 G10....
aside from the obvious scales and clip difference ?
Any difference in the design or mechanic's ?
I really like my older stainless spyders, but think I prefer the G10's.

Thanks for your feedback.

The older Gen 1 Dragonfly will have a metal stamped clip whereas the newer Gen Dragonfly will have the wire clip. The Gen 1 Dragonfly also does not have gimping while the newer Gen Dragonfly will have gimping. No mechanical differences as far as I'm aware.

I have no idea but out of the who knows how many knives I own I really seem to gravitate to this one a lot.
It has a really solid feel to it but absolutely disappears in my jeans pocket

The SS is held together by flush pins, the G-10 by screws. The SS is going to be heavier and slicker, so it will feel different in your hand. possibly very different. The SS Dfly's clip allows RH/TU carry only, the G-10's can be mounted for RH or LH tip up carry. All of those things will be trivial to some but one or more of them will be critical to others. Beyond them, and the points already mentioned, there's probably not much.

The SS is harder to open because the clip isn't far enough back to get a good purchase, in my opinion. It keeps me from using this SS beauty. It really needs an update to wire clip like the new Dflys, or the current clip moved back.

Thanks, I have the stainless...
maybe it's time to keep my eyes open for a foliage green, kind of small but a nice little knife that I carry now and then.
