Whats everyone doing for vacation this summer?

Im looking into going down south from my residence in PA. Im looking to visit West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and maybe South Carolina. If anyone could suggest any prime places to visit that would be great. Thanks

In North Carolina, try going to Franklin and go gem mining. Try to stay to the native mines as they are cheaper and more fun, IMO. We brought back emeralds, rubies, aquamarines, etc. Getting them cut is not cheap (they are by the karat and the harder the gem, the higher the cost), but I had a couple of my emeralds appraised in excess of $4,000 each. Paid about $400 to have those two cut.
 
I am going to my Grandfathers 100th birthday. If he does, I will. Next year I will do a month long hike in Ireland, or the Long trail in Vermont. Its a toss up.
 
going on a six day bicycle tour in June through Southern Indiana ( TIRI ride)


Spending a week on Drummond Island in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan in July.

Spending a week in Mexico Building homes in November ( again )

Spending a week in Hawaii with the milf...dates undetermined...

I hope I don't do anything.

The last few summer vacations were such disasters I think I'd rather just sit at home and do nothing.

To hell with it.
 
My family is vacationing at home, reroofing the house.

Maybe a couple of close by camping/fishing trips, but that is it.
 
This is my last summer before college, so I'm going to try to live it up. I applied today for a job at CVS working the night shift (midnight to morning) because I always wanted to try a night shift job.

I'm going to spend a lot of time and money on my car- new clutch, put in the headlight and fog light replacements I bought, fix the small rust spots, fix a little interior leak etc. I'm going to Montana for a week in July to stay on my relatives' ranch. I plan of having a Harold and Kumar road trip to White Castle with some friends, and I'm going spend a lot of time with the girlfriend before we go off to our separate colleges.
