What's Going on in The EE

From members, not dealers? Figured they were from the blem sale passed off as firsts.

Flippers.
Happens with every new release of a popular model that they know will sell.
Sprint run and exclusive versions of the PM2 are always a safe bet to be able to sell.

I dont get it. It's an old design, spyderco uses the same blade shape on most their knives, just a liner lock and they used rivets. o_O

The PM2 has never used rivets.

Yes, but this one is red! :D

So you have been a member here for 15 years AND the majority of your threads are in the exchange AND this is the first time you have noticed this phenomenon?

I'll will give you the benefit of the doubt and suggest paying closer attention, but one might think you are just trying to create the dogpile ScooterG ScooterG referenced.

Um, no. Is a dogpile the same as a troll? If so Im neither. If this is frowned upon or spyderco fans go bezerk when someone asks questions than MODS please lock this sucker down.

I dont live here, I have kids, work, mortgage, etc. I am out of the loop with the knife world thats why I asked. Also asked in the Benchmade forum about BM scales and said the same thing.

Hi Simple6,

The Para 2 design is a few years old but its a remarkably well done design in my opinion. While the lock does look similar to a liner lock the actual mechanics are fairly different, and the construction is screw together, no rivets thankfully. It definitely can be hard to keep up with the knife world when real life is busy, I have to work hard to keep up with everything and I work in the industry.

There was a deal if you bought more than one. The Para2 is a popular knife for flippers and offering a discount for buying more then one is a flippers ideal scenario. On top of that these were very reasonably priced. It is what it is.

This is the time of year for flipping seconds and there have been a few doing that as well. There were some extremely deep discounts on factory firsts of discontinued models at the sale this year too and I have seen a few of them on the exchange as well.

The Para2 doesn't use a liner lock or rivets.

The current run is DLT's Red M390 PM2's being flipped for $50-$75 over retail...I do wonder if its flipping if its a Spyderco wouldn't it be flicking ;)

I am aware of what exclusive we are talking about. :)

This exclusive probably enticed even people who do not normally flip knives to buy more than one with the discount. I expect to see quite a few more of these on the exchange as people realize that they did not actually need two. That is in addition to the deliberate flippers.

I would like to see Spyderco do much larger runs on the Para2. It seems like that would help.
