I'm hoping for a little help from
J
J Hubbard
for an issue that I have been trying to settle since June.
I have several Buck 104's (and love them). A while back I decided to do some maintenance on them and removed the scales to apply an anti-corrosive to the steel. The screws in three of the Buck 104's (two SKBlade exclusives and a April BotM) came out without a hitch. The fourth unfortunately had an issue. The rear screw completely stripped with very little torque. It didn't cam out, rather the screwdriver just spun and stripped the screw as if it was made of tinfoil. I ended up having to drill the screw to remove it. Not a huge deal as I knew Buck would have my back.
I contacted the warranty repair department and they said they would send new screws/sleeves for the April 2021 Buck of the Month 104 Compadre. Some time goes by and the screws/sleeves arrive. Unfortunately they were the wrong screws/sleeves for the Buck 104 and were much too short (the threads on the screws couldn't reach the threads in the sleeves).
I contacted the Buck Warranty Department again and let them know, they apologized and said they would send a new set of replacement screws for the April BotM 104. Some time goes by and the screws/sleeves arrive. Wrong again. Still much too short (although they are ever so slightly longer than the last set), but colored black this time.
Hopefully third time is the charm? Mr. Hubbard, would you possibly be able to help out and ensure the proper screws/sleeves are sent? This knife has been out of commission for awhile now.
The screws/sleeves I need are up top. The middle and bottom sets are the replacement screws/sleeves I have been sent so far.
