"Turkish Clip" ...
"California Clip" ...
"Muskrat Clip" ...

Is there any difference in the three besides the name assigned by the maker?

Good question...I wonder where one finishes and the other begins

Is the Turkish clip the same as what the French call the Yatagan style blade? I don’t have any examples myself, but if you Google “couteau Yatagan” you will see plenty of them. A Yatagan is a Turkish short sword with a pronounced forward/downward angle to the blade, and often a recurve. You can also Google just “Yatagan” to see the swords which I assume inspired the Yatagan/Turkish clip name for the blade shape.

The closest thing I have to one is this little no-name wonder:

Maybe Jolipapa Jolipapa or Corto_Malt Corto_Malt can chime in with better examples.

Anyway, just another name to throw into the mix…

Jeff black mamba black mamba is right on as far as I'm concerned. The key difference between the Turkish Clip and Muskrat Clip is the recurve in the Turkish Clip's blade edge.

Yes, clip # yatagan. From a scimitar shape like the Douk douk to the stretched Laguiole blade.

With all the clip-points and spear-points I see described by makers and sellers as drop-points, I don't expect much certainty in nomenclature.
Don’t forget about Wharncliffes!
