I Want To Put One Of These Together And Want To Know What You Guys And Gals May Carry Inside Of Them...so Lets See Whatcha Got!!

Well, I always seem like I'm never ready. No matter how carefully I equip, it always seems like I need more, missing something, or could do a better job. I think a Pack or BoB is a long journey, building it, tearing it down, and re-inventing it as you read good stuff in places like this.

Ask yourself a few things, is it a 24 hour kit, or a 72 hour kit, or even a 2 week kit?
Wilderness or urban? Cold weather? Hot? rough terrian, or flat? Desert or swamp.
Do you think you will run into "BadGuys"?

All of it will factor into what you pack.

Search for some threads, there are a couple of good ones with cool pictures of some of the guys kits.

This is a man that will be just fine if the SHTF:thumbup:
 
ther is only two Catastrophic senarios "natural and Man made" hence "BOB" is rigged for permanent deploy.

Train derailment, factory fire, refinery explosion, prison uprising, flood, volcano, earthquake, communicable disiese outbreak, etc. The 72 hour bit is just to tide you over for the first three days. After that, you should have relocated to an area where supplies are more available. It's like the "golden hour" for trauma treatment. You may or may not be able to return in 72 hours, but that gives you three days to get out of Dodge to a less unsettled area, and three days for the governmink to step up to the plate with a plan to help evacuees if that is your bent.

Yup. And besides, having a 72-hr bag at least mostly ready to go makes impromptu camping trips a snap. Or as my girlfriend says, "every camping trip is training."
 
The last time an ice storm took down our power for a week, we got chilly, but we were OK. No, no one came. We weren't asked if we needed heat or refuge. We were only told by the power company... Mannana... tomorrow... maybe.

Ice was delivered to our town after the hurricanes (Andrew, Opal, Erin), but we had to crawl over downed trees and powerlines, around yachts and seaweed with dead fish, walk a mile to get the free ice, and rush back home with it before it melted. Even that was more than I expected. Or really needed. We were happy, healthy, well fed and secure by our own hook. And we fared better than a lot of the people who evacuated only to be stranded on a clogged highway with nothing but a car.
 
What does BOB stand for?
I take it you're talking about emergency gear and food--something like a survival pack, emergency kit, etc?

Yes. Bug Out Bag, as it is called. A bag or pack to grab if you have to leave in a hurry because of some emergency.

pill bottle w. ibuprofen, tylenol, alleve, zantac, immodium & iosat

....I also have a second bag with less necessary but nice to have items (extra clothes, folding shovel, etc.)
