Whats in your Knife Pouch Tin???

My ESEE-5 is one of my very favorite all purpose knives. If Im going out in the woods and only taking one knife, usually this is it. I thought I would share what I keep in the knife pouch tin....hopefully some of you can share what you put in yours and give me some ideas.

Sorry if this has been done before, I searched and didnt see anything....

Suture kit (Im always afraid I am going to split myself in half and not be able to put myself back together!)

perfect timing on this thread. I just bought the sheath and pouch for my ESEE 5. Still need to fill the tin so i will be paying close attention to this thread. How do you like the sheath and pouch for your 5?

Im a huge stickler on sheaths. I have had great knives that have had poor sheaths and I just end up getting rid of the knife. This sheath is perfect for what I use it for. It is a "goof around in the woods/if I ever had to survive knife", and the sheath compliments its purpose very well, you will love it.
 
The pouch for my ESEE-5 holds a magazine for my M&P 45 quite nicely. I ran the leg straps for a Blackhawk magazine pouch thigh rig through the MOLLE back of the sheath, so I've got my rifle mags, an extra pistol mag, and the knife all in one bundle.

Great thread. I do not have a ESEE yet, but will soon. I have a Lost Mountain Iron Works sheath that has double pockets that I carry two tins in, along with a few other things stuffed in the elastic straps. No pic at the moment but I will get some. I have a ferrule rod, small SAK, a nail puller, a old KaBar folder in elastic strips; one tin with medical stuff like band-aids, aspirin, imodum for direaha, antiseptic wipes, iodine wipes; other tin has fatwood, matches, cotton balls, and a few rubber strips to get a fire going--and a small bic lighter. This is not a light setup but comprensive for a BUG setup. I will be using a strap to jerry rig some carry harness next as it rides on a pack with MOLLE attachments now.
 
Im currently buiding one.
So far;
PJCB filled ESEE fire kit with in the elastic band on the outside of the pouch.
GG ferro+striker
Lighter
Ordered Tinder-quick
 
Mine is just a firekit. Some fatwood, PJCB, a firesteel and a bic. (Piece of hacksaw blade for striker)

Check at local hobby stores....like hobby lobby, michaels or joanns. They have small mint tins just like the altoids tins for super cheap.

I have done tins in seperate style, fire, medical, and fishing/trapping.

Really cool setups you guys have here. I just may need to go eat some altoids or buy one off their site, hmm....
 
looking up contents of altoids survival tins online and came across this - this guy may not survive that long but he's not gonna give a shit lol...

just a suggestion. if your worried about opening yourself up. get superglue =)

Yes, that stuff works wonders. I have that in my packs, but I couldnt fit it in this one.....Ill probably never need the suture kit...and if I ever did, chances are I would either F it up, or bleed to death trying, but, its small, takes up no space and gives me a good (probably false) sense of confidence!
