I have had several of these things over the years, but never really packed them up - mostly from Tad Gear. I just purchased a Son of Exo tube from a talented titanium crafter and really want to get it packed up right for EDC. This notion might have been covered in the forums, but i didn't really find what I was looking for. So I reach out to my "like minded" brethern here on Blade Forums for some insight. What are you puttin in these things? PICS PICS PICS!!!!!

I'll post pics of mine when I receive it, should be early next week sometime. The tube i ordered is a lightly smaller tube/capsule, but i managed to also get the matching titanium spool full of spectra line for inside, so I wont have to much room..... Decisions, decisions, decisions....

I have a tad gear one to ill have to post pic's. also got a few K&M match cases:thumbup:

I like the "baby soda bottle" available from scientific supply houses. Cheap, tough, and transparent: you can see the contents.

I use them for a variety of contents. I don't think one tube carries enough for real emergency, but it can be handy for some circumstances. For example, I've used them for carrying wine, water, antacids, and honey. One BF member made up a compact fishing kit.

I save up different color bottle caps from different sodas so I can color code contents.

That's a good idea, the Exo I purchased will be coming with a matching titanium spool wrapped with spectra line. Maybe a little fishing kit wouldn't be a bad idea. I like your idea of using the color coded caps. If they're cheap enough I could get multiples and load up a kitchen bag with them.

"I save up different color bottle caps from different sodas so I can color code contents" huh good idea Esav:thumbup:

Can't wait to hear what you put in your's.
Did you get your tube from Tisurvival? They look like some quality work.

Here's the inside of the one I carry daily (large K&M matchcase).
1) few small hooks (bottom)
2) fishing line/weights (bic pen and capped either end of it, filling the inside with fishing weights, and wrapped line on the out side of it.)
3) Sewing Kit (same bic pen set up / assorted needles inside / heavy nylon thread on the outside)
4) fisher space pen refil (one of the ultra small ones, can't remember the model number off hand)
5) few matches (under inch in length)
6) sliver of fatwood
7) at the top I have a few each of benadryl, ibuprof free standing (I use & restock these regularly)
8) on the outside of the case, have a couple of feet of gorilla tape wrapped as well as a few feet of snare wire.
Might be some other stuff inside, but can't remember :)..actually now that I'm thinking..not sure if when I put this one together if I did not consolidate the fishing/sewing kit into the same piece of bic pen, I'll check later to verify.

Can't edit above post from "smart" phone, so had to post updates here:
1) 3 fish hooks
2) 3 different sized clasp pins
3) sewing kit (capped needles/weights in side piece of bic, nylon thread wrapped)
4) 2 packaged sterile scalpel heads
5) 7 matches (just under 1inch length)
6) 1 small fisher ink cartridge
7) 1 match box striker

Cotton ball on top of that stuff separating:
5 benadryl, 5 ibuprofen, and a couple of other incidentals.

Outside:
Roughly 8ft of snare wire, a few feet of gorilla tape, and of course the built in compass.

PJC's and a small ferro rod would be one of the better uses for those li'l capsule I'd imagine.
