I posted this a while back, and I'm trying a new pic host, so I thought I'd share it again.

Happy Holidays:)

The leek is exactly the same. The design certainly makes it easy to take apart. Looking forward to many more models.

I've wondered how they did the firing mechanism. That's slick !

In the open position, can you guys hear the torsion bar rattle a bit? I can...just wondering if it was normal...

What lube do you use in the recessed area?

They use a very light grease but only under the spring cover, if the grease is not washed out it shouldn't rattle, the grease holds it like mud.

I'm not sure about a rattle but it can make a grinding noise when closing. I'd take it apart and clean the spring compartment then place a little grease in it. That should take care of any noises. It has for mine.

I believe Vaseline would attract lint, dust, etc. to the pivot. You will get MANY, MANY different opinions on what to use as lubricants. For this application, maybe a teflon type lube like Rem Lube. You could even use a little mineral oil, but I don't think I'd use anything like Vaseline. JMHO.

Your only putting it in the sealed compartment where the springbar is. When it was brand new it had a dab of grease there.

Well, in that case..... I might try emailing Kershaw and asking what was used originally. I emailed them about country of origin of a couple of their knives, and in 48 hours I had an answer. Probably couldn't hurt.
They will probably tell you it was.....Vaseline.
