What's it worth?
That's not a hint that it might be for sale; it will be fore sale ... I just want to be fair (to both sides) on value.
I'm digging through knives that I've had for a good while that just do not get carried or used. This one was carried a little - too little but still has the factory edge and has never been sharpened. I cannot ever remember using it and purchased it new. I cannot locate the box. I do not know what model it is.
The blade is marked: AUS-8 FM Co/Japan

Thank you in advance for responses.

It’s an Eagle Ultralight made by Moki. Can’t really tell condition from your pictures and you only show one side. It’s a classic now discontinued. New it ran $120-150 depending on when it was bought and the yen :).

I believe it is an Al Mar Talon ... you may check Knives Plus they had a couple older models in Aus 8 on there site awhile back ... just looked they have it listed for $234.00 as New Old Stock.

Good luck!

No idea what the current value (if any) is.
Have you checked the sold listings on the bay for that make and model?
Ignore the highest and lowest sold for, then average the rest to get a realistic current value.

I was thinking about buying an Eagle 7 or 8 years ago when they were between $95-$100. The AUS8 steel was the deal breaker for me. The highest I ever saw this (pre-DCd) was $120. (The Eagle HD in G-10 was $120-$150) The flat ground blade version has always been more popular than the less utilitarian, Talon blade.
Personally I would keep it, but if the knife is pristine I would start at $150. No box is going to hurt. Good luck.

Fadden-Moki Company, Gary Fadden's partnership with Moki to produce Al Mar designs after Al Mar passed away.

SALTY, this is an Al Mar Eagle Ultralight 1005UBK2 with a Full Flat Grind blade.
Lately those have been sold for around $200 when in brand new condition with the box.

Good catch, I'll edit my post with the correct info:thumbsup:

Thank you all for your kind assistance. One thing about BF that is consistent - there is a wealth of information with folks ready to share it. Thank you all. If any of you are interested in the knife, just PM me as special consideration would certainly be appropriate.

Seems high, are you in US? This is just a plain jane model, not even the Talon blade shape.

Yes USD

I am not too sure if the Ultralight and Ultralight HD see much of a price difference between FFG and Talon. Also with production leaving Japan for China, prices have been increasing for the Seki made knives

Remember though that $200 would be for a brand new , in box, never carried version of the knife.
There would be an extra $20 for serration, part serration or initial first 200 batch.

There would be an extra $50 more if it was brown micarta

You are free though to disagree :-)

Well that seems high for US prices. There's a serrated one BNIB at that price online but it's sat for awhile unsold.

I will drop the price to $130 and see if that inspires more interest. I am without a doubt unfamiliar with Japanese Al Mar values and just want to sell at a fair to both sides price.

As before, special consideration offered to those helping me here if any of you are interested.
