I won a damascus locking folder some years back, but have been unable to determine the value of it. When won, i was told it was "a 200 dollar knife".
It's a Fox and/or Oreste Frati. Limited edition 0518 out of 1000 knives.
512 sheats of damascus, handle made from exotic roots and wood. card inside wood box is signed and numbered by the maker Oreste Prati.
Any ideas among the experts?

Not exactly a Custom/Handmade knife, although I'll bet it's made well. I did a Google search and found this info:

By all means you have a production knife. If there was 1000 of them made, I doubt that you will find value above $200, if even that.

Yes, photos would help.

found a pic of the knife on the internet, but can't locate a price/value

for scale, the blade is almost 4"

Fox Daqmasco...Retail Price $240.

What you could get for it? $100...maybe. Remember wholesale is $120...some super dealers would get the knife for $96.

As Coop pointed out...it is a factory knife.

Limited edition of 1000...is your first hint.

My private thoughts were around $100 (or less) also. But I was going easy on our new friend. :D

You might get the most satisfaction by simply using it. You probably wouldn't purchase a $240 knife to use, but now you have one. Good for you.
