So, any exciting things been happening in the world of custom knives since I've been gone? Any new and wonderful steels? I bet there are lots of new makers that have come along. mI have a lot of catching up to do. I've noticed this forum doesn't seem to be as lively as it was in the past. I haven't seen any posts by Steven. Steven, where are you my friend?

I have been around amigo, stirring the pot, just like always. Just got back from SHOT/Ed Wormser's Knife Auction/Las Vegas Knife Show/Tactical Invitational 2013....whew! Very busy week.

Where have you been? Place isn't the same without you.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Life got in the way of my obsession, but I am back. It's great to see that you are still here. I noticed quite a few of the old group are still around and a few aren't. I'm going to miss Les.

I'm not going anywhere else, Keith. I like BladeForums....and also miss Les, but he knew what he was doing each time he got banned and didn't seem to care what the outcome would be.

Just posting less....same thing as before when you dropped off....some people take critique well, and some turn into children.

The state of the industry has changed a lot. Tactical knives are still gaining a lot of traction, and the obsession with giant forged bowies has cooled to some degree.

Other old-time regulars will take note of you posting and drop in to say hello, I am sure.

Take care and Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

In a fairly general sense, there seems to be more emphasis on field pieces, and the more
challenging/larger damascus pieces.
In the 2012 BF Best Bowie thread,None of the finalists had ivory, or "plain" hand finished
blades....!

Good to see you actively posting again Keith.

Yours is one of the names that get my attention....such as this thread!

Regards,
Peter

My Gallery thread at the top of the forum, has many older pieces shown again. But NOT as many as the new pieces that have come my way.

It's an ongoing 'timeline' display of the higher end works in our field. Admittedly, the utility and tactical segment is not represented fluidly.

That's what's 'new'. The forum is still vibrant. As with all things, the names change as do the topics.

We hope your rest was vitalizing! :)
