What's new for '09?

Ok, seems like the holiday items didn't work out this year (or I missed that thread). Was otherwise occupied for a bit.

Any viz or rumors on new for '09? Or are we going to have to wait till the Shot Show?

Hell, I'll entertain wild a$$ guesses at this point:D
 
Well I found out that the Smidgen that I've had for a few weeks is scheduled for release this month. :)
Is it common for models to sneak out via online retailers?
 
Well CJ said they are coming out with a New Steel (new to Buck). Now that is interesting...I think CJ said something to the effect "Priced like 420hc with performance closer the S30V" Anyone got that figured out?
 
OC, I think we have to wait till the Shot Show now... I guess they don't want to let the Bucks out of the hat yet... :eek: ...
 
I hear they will make 850 Bravos with G10 scales that fit flush this year... those voices, they usually tell me a lot more... they sometimes argue, too. Back to the Sugar Bowl... go Utah! Yeah, my wife isn't happy with me - she's an Alabama fan - I am an Auburn grad - never pull for 'Bama!

Wait... more on the 850 Bravo update... proper scales for those of us with poorly fitted ones, yippee! Oh yeah, it was those voices again!

We had three key new product goals going into 2009...Hunting Leadership, Innovation in Everyday and US Made wherever we can. We are introducing 63 new products in 09 counting colors etc and 62 are US made. I was able to take the hunting products on a Mule Deer hunt earlier this fall and they got plenty of use and we actually made a few adjustments from that hunt.

After shot show we will post with pictures and descriptions.

The feedback we are getting from our dealers has been fantastic, both on our direction above and how the products deliver on that direction.

Sorry about no holiday bucks this year. It was a very strange christmas and I hope we never see another one like it.
 
It's all about living 'lean' this year for Buck... I'm sure Chuck, CJ, and the board have plans for new knives and new 'directions' in 2009...I'm just glad we BCCI members and all Buck fans around the world get to ride along too..

Great news! Always nice to hear it from the top. Needed something positive personally.

Like the US production shift and looking forward to the new products.
 
It looks like this will be an exciting year for Buck and I am looking forward to it!

Does anyone have any idea when/if the Custom Shoppe will be offering new blade steels?
 
I was told that D2 was a possiblity after the new year, but nothing firm there. Maybe it will be a Shot Show unveiling.
 
I wonder if their new steel will be Sandvik 13C26? Kershaw seems to be able to offer it in their knives at 420HC prices.

Looking forward to seeing 62 new US made products!
 
The CS 112 was great in 08! Will there be another model having a 'limted' window ??
 
I just received the 2009 catalog. There are a ton of neat new knives. The new steels are 12C27Mod Sandvik and 13C26 Sandvik both heat treated by Paul Bos.
 
That's not fair!;)

Hope they update their website soon. Hard to give them money if I don't know what they have that I "need" :)
