So I bought an Izula, and now I want another.

The use will be camping/hunting mostly but really I just want another ESEE knife.

I want the 5 but feel it might be over the top for back yard survival (ha ha).

The 6's blade is too long to keep in my truck legally (I think TX max 5.5" blade)

So what are your thoughts?

6,I live in TX and I never worry about that issue but if it bothers you go with the 4 works well with the Izula

I think you may have answered your own question -- the 6 is a wonderful blade, but if you can't take it with you, it's not going to do you any good.
The 5 is a brute - but you can do things to the scales to make it fit your hand better and it IS legal to haul around in Texas....
OTOH, the 4 is a perfectly find knife, too...

I only have an izula and 4 for now. They make a great pair in the woods. Hope to add the Junglas next, tho.

I would highly recommend the 4 for general purpose. If it were going to be a dedicated whitetail knife for field dressing and skinning and nothing else, then I might say 3, but for a good all around knife, the 4 can’t be beaten IMO.

Can't go wrong with either - what you want to do with it is most important, really.

I have a RC-3 that I use as a camping/hunting knife. It is thin enough for skinning/gutting but also robust enough for just about any woods chore you can imagine. I'd look hard at the 3:)

Since the 6 is too long do the 4...the 5 is a prybar! It is heavy too! It has a different purpose...not a bad knife at all but different purpose. Downed pilots and SERE stuff. The 4 and 6 are bushcraft/camp/survival blades. The 4 is my pick! Great sheath as well!

Thanks for your thoughts........I ordered the 6.

Just saw your post after I commented...I have a 6 I got on trade and absolutely LOVE IT!!! One of my favorite blades. I had the 5 and traded it. To be honest I am glad I did. You will love it. I also have an Izula this is a great combination. You are set to take on some serious bushcraft and camping!! Enjoy!

I have a 3, 4 and 5. They all have their roles with some overlap. The 5 is just designed to be a different knife as a last ditch escape, evasion tool that will do most anything OK, but will NEVER break. It can do things the others can't like hack through plexiglass and aluminum quickly. You probably don't need that for everyday. I like smaller blades, so I'd go with the 4 and see how it does for you.
