What's next from the archives?

So we've seen the Dodo, the Rock Lobster, the Tuff, the Slysz Bowie, the Lum Tanto and Chinese folder.

What will be the next knife from past catalogs up for a sprint or exclusive?

I think the Massad Ayoob is coming back.

There is talk about Ed Schempp models. The Persian, the Kris and others.

Personally, I would be happy with a fully serrated Military in Rex45 or K390.

The Tuff was designed by Schempp. I never liked it (mainly because of the dimples) but I think that DLT improved it.

I don't think anyone could improve much upon the design of Persian, Navaja, Bowie or Kris (other than make them larger to provide for better proportions) but I would like to see "better" versions of the EuroEdge, Barong and Khukuri; all of which were also designed by Schempp.

I'll be interested to see how the new Ayoob to be released by Spyderco looks like and, if I were to pick an older model to resurrect as an exclusive or reissue, it probably would be the Calypso or Goddard but (like the others mentioned above), I don't know how they could be much improved over the originals, except in terms of the blade steel used.

BTW, I own a large black Persian, a Schempp Bowie, a Navaja, an Ayoob and EuroEdge plus multiple blade versions of the Calypso Micarata and Goodard FRN LW; all of which I consider classics.

Definitely one of my favourites. I wonder if it could be done in FFG.

I’d like to see a Vesuvius with the modern compression lock. IIRC the Vesuvius became the centofante back lock, and I would like to have a spydie office edc with either compression or ball bearing lock.

Such an underrated knife. Not sure how they could improve on it , but would like to see them try. It was the Knife of the Year in 2003 with the titanium version.

I must live in a cave. Apart from the Military i haven't heard of most of those knives mentioned. Reading the post here was like hearing someone speak in a foreign language
But i’m ok with that. Just more to learn.
