Was just saying that I needed to clear off my desk before I get cut, off in another thread. So along the lines of the "What have you cut with your Buck Today" thought I would start one about what Buck is laying around on your desk.

I really don't think I should do this, as it will cause me much embarassment, but you will see why I am the Pack Rat.

Here goes... Remember the 110 that yall dubbed the Cyclops because of the small stainless piviot pin on one side and the huge one on the back side of brass bolsters. It is laying here.

Then there is a 174 cutback laying under a pile of 5 309's that I was playing with earlier. Oops,,mixed in with them are a couple of 303's

then there is an AG110, and 3 other 110's That I was comparing scales.

Moving on across is a 301, a 305, and a china 301. (and I thought china 300's all were 37x....not)

Then a 503, a 505, and a 704. Those must have all been in the baggie with the 300's.

Not through yet,,,,the 419 that I was kicking around with Goose on another thread, along with an Adrenalin TI that I tested the slicing sliver thing with.

Just uncovered a 560, a 138 sharpening steel, a buck stone, and a MS192 overrun.

I obviously get carried away draging out knives that we are talking about and don't get them put away for a while.

oops...there sits a Tiny TI in the postit holder.

Whats on your desk! Oh yeah....the wife doesn't come up here...whew...

Later guys, gotta get this mess cleaned up.

LOL...
I am not going to count the half dozen units I have on display stands on my desk shelves...just counting the Buck knives on my desk.
While Larry is a "Pack Rat", I am an "accumulator"...someone here said you're not a "collector" if you don't have a theme. My only "theme" is "Buck".
These are currently in view on my desk right now:

Somewhere is my *355 Buck Mini-Tool...

Gee 'Goose...how big is your desk? All mine will hold: 2 500s, one mastodon and a COLT Commorative, a 507 Ma Pearl, 2x 124s LE Sambar and pre-86 black micarta, 2 Sirusesessszz, the 419, a 106 black micarta, an Idaho-stamped 119, a 111 BCCI just in, 3x 110s BCCI B/C and partial chip and Wyatt Earp etch, a German nicker knife, a thirty year old EDC 501 micarta, and a 425 for opening mail. This, not counting the display case on top of the hutch, right?

Wow Fellers!!!!,

I have no Bucks on my desk...Zero...Zip..Not a single knife. They are all in display case's or still in their box's...I've got 2 X 124 pre 86ers in the desk drawer...But, that doesn't count. However, my grand kids may be running around here at any time of day or night...so you can't hold it against me that I put them away after I mess with them ;).

Er, only ONE Buck an Alpha Dorado in basic birch scales, very trusty knife & it's about to go for a walk in the forest.

There are 22 other knives...not much room for the laptop anymore!

Being my truck in my desk I count two, one 118 and one 110. Goose I think you need to recount.

A computer & keyboard, duh! Also, a sheathed Buck 192 and first run (Made in MI!) Marble's Safegrip Plainsman; my Spydie 'Sharpmaker; Canon PS S3 IS; and, under the big Buck catalog, the Rayovac NiMH charger I couldn't find yesterday. Oh yeah, some Brownell's gun tools, too. I had just put up a half dozen Bucks!

Stainz

Leatherman micra, SAK (Hunter) lost in the Colo. wilds for two years and re-found, Version 2 303, 309 I found squished in a gravel road and trying to figure out how spread the sides back out (dare I send it in) and my pin grind-offs from the thread on 300 hinge pins and a cheap foreign neck knife as a letter opener.

Whew,,,at least I am not the only one with an accumulation problem. Or is it lazyness that I don't get them back to their home spot....yeah, that must be it... :D

Interesting stuff here guys,,,I will be reading over these lists to see what is next on my hit list.

Just have one, a 186 thats a fine,fine, letter opener..When I get my 2007 membership club knife{my first!} That will be my NEDC {not every day carry} or you might say my DUC {dressup carry} 334, I learned ...................................

Well, my desk configuration changed some. The 192 is gone, I'm through playing with the Adrenalin and it is living back among its small box brothers. The 300's have migrated into one pile, and now there is a year 1992 112 hooked up to the lansky for a honeing.

Got to thinking about Doodles post and so decided to give the Grandson a 110/112 with his birth year. The 112 was the first 1992 I came to while digging through the drawer.

It was a mess so I sanded the scratches out of the bolsters and have it all nice and polished. It's got a really nice blade and overall looks nearly like a new one. It will go good with the Marlin model 60 I gave him yesterday. He will enjoy learning about the date codes and that it is as old as he is. And, they are going to the ranch day after Christmas and maybe he will help his Dad take them a deer.

I can not tell a lie! I only have my Buck EDC on my desk along with a Spanish 'folding bowie' and a Hinderer 'Inferno'. All the other Bucks are safely sleeping in drawers.

Just Bucks???

Well, the only Buck I have lying on my desk is a 442...It's lying next to a Case 1st Run 2-blade Doctor's Knife and a Cattaraugus 337 Q... :D

Everything else is safely locked out of sight... ;)

Oh! There's a boxed LL Bean Buck 525 that a generous Forum member included in a purchase some time back... :)

...along with a Spanish 'folding bowie' ...

That Spanish job looks like it has a shell extractor built into the guard...Can you tell what gauge??? I was bidding on a German knife [Weidmannsheil] with two different gauge shell extractors built in but the bidding took off and I got left way behind... :(

...someone here said you're not a "collector" if you don't have a theme. My only "theme" is "Buck"...

I may have said that (or I repeated someone else)...

Let's try a little test to see if you're a collector...If you put all your Buck knives on a board and took them to a knife show, what would be your reason for showing them??? If a judge came around and asked you what you were displaying, what would you tell him??? If CJ, Joe, or Chuck stopped by, and wanted to know what they all represented...what would be your answer???

If you said, "They're just Bucks" to any of the above...then you're not a collector... :(

There has to be some common characteristic to a "collection"...

You may very well have a "collection"...You just haven't defined it yet... ;)

Its just so hard to say that I am a Buck Accumulator...:grumpy::D

A minty 810 just arrived yesterday. What an interesting piece. Sad thing is, I just noticed the box says 820. I have no clue what the differences are.

We're probably all "collectors"...You just have to list all the characteristics of your Buck knives, and determine what they have in common...and that's your "theme"...(Not all your Bucks may be part of the theme)... :)

My own personal "collection" includes some Buck knives, but has many more other makes...Sadly, it is not displayable... :(

And some of us have no clue what a 820 or 810 is...without pics...
