For me it would be a large annual mammoth bark damascus seb. Don't know if I will find one, but I a man can look and hope.
Thats on my list too JP,,,have a order in for a Damascus blade Seb,,,i have some time to decide what inlay or unique graphics i want.Im wondering if you can see the bark ivory inlet before u purchase it or is it whatever they send you.I see some really cool Bark inlays then theres some others that i dont care so much for.Maybe the thing to do would be to go for the Ivory instead of the bark?
I thought the same thing when it came to the mammoth bark. The diversity which is one of its greatest features, is also what made it hard to pull the trigger on. I just didnt want to risk the chance being sent an inlay I didn't love. That's why I ordered cream ivory on my ladder Damascus mnandi. I really think it contrasts the dark Damascus and makes you focus more on the blade which is the point. When I ordered it I told heather the whiter the better. That was almost a year any a half ago. Talked to her last week and apparently it is going to ready in march. Safe to say I'm pretty dam excited!![]()
Adam congrads and hope to see pics of it when u get it.So ordering the Ivory bark its pretty much a crap shoot on what you get,,,,i was hopeing maybe they could possibly send a pic of the inlay to see if you wanted it.If thats the case i dont blame you for going with the Ivory instead of the bark. What kind of Damascus did u go for?
Thanks,
Kdawg
I'm sure if you were to contact them directly, and send them a picture of the type of bark you wanted that they would be able to oblige in time. What I gathered from Heather though was that they get ivory in such limited supply as it is, that you will be waiting regardless of the type of bark you are looking for. Additionally, she said that getting bark with the greens and blues (that I personally like the best) is quite rare nowadays. She told me that one guy who was really particular had been waiting almost 3 years for his knife. I personally wasn't willing to go though all that hassle, and honestly find the cream ivory just as appealing. I chose to go with ladder Damascus... but it certainly wasn't an easy decisionI'll be sure to post pics when it arrives.
cheers
Ladder Damascus is a great choice and I am sure that you will love your knife when it arrives. Here is a pic of my two gems for you to compare ladder with raindrop. I prefer raindrop but both are gorgeous. Make sure to post pics when it arrivesNow if I can only get my hands on a mammoth bark annual my tripartite will be complete for the year.
