I'm trying to zero in on my next knife purchase. I've made a commitment to buy it from CollectorKnives. That's not much of a stretch as all of what I want Mike carries. :D They're actually all slip joints too. I have no issue with slip joints, especially with a good back spring so that's a non-issue. Also, I don't mind no clip as I've got plenty of knives with them.

I think I have it narrowed down to:

1. lionSTEEL Best Man. I've loved the look of this knife since Mike first posted images of the prototype. There's just been others edging it out but boy it is calling to me. I really like the clip point Micarta and Santos wood versions...

2. lionSTEEL Thrill. This is another knife that tripped my trigger when I first saw it. I think the engineering is really cool and it looks like a nice feeling knife with a good usable blade. I did see a video where the retractable clip didn't work but only that one compared to many that were fine. The orange and green are pretty cool...

3. The Viper Key. I tend to like sleek, svelt folders with sexy lines and this one just looks nice to me. I love the blue titanium but fear it would mar up pretty quickly. The 3D carbon fiber is sweet too. I like the bronze carbon fiber but we're getting rather deep in price and I always wonder about the metal mesh pulling out. Looks fantastic though.

So that's what I'm eyeballing. Feel free to lend any thoughts or experiences you've had with any of these guys. :)

Olamic Wayfarer 247 in entropic. No holes or skeletonizing. Don get how holes could work with pocket lint and deer guts. Maybe they take up less room in the safe for some people?

1) 3” XM-18 Tri-way No Choil Slicer. When I wasn’t looking for one they were readily available but now that I’ve decided that I need one...Oh well, guess I’ll just have to (not so:p) patiently wait for the next batch.

2) More Sebenza 21s

3) Maybe another Shiro or Cheburkov

BestMan is a great knife. I have the one blade jack in olive wood and really like it. I have one of the DLT exclusives with micarta and sheepsfoot blade as well, which is also great, but I do like the original in olive wood better. Obviously can’t speak for everyone but, mine has excellent f&f. Really can’t say anything negative, I doubt you’d be disappointed here.

I recently missed a chance to snag a Thrill at my local brick and mortar shop. Had it in hand but didn’t pull the trigger. Kicking myself ever since and been on the lookout for a restock.

Viper Key was not on my radar... but is now.

I have a CPK DEK incoming and the BF knife sometime later this year so trying to stay on the purchasing DL for a bit. However, Spyopera and Giant Mouse Nimbus have caught my eye lately so not sure how successful I’ll be. Also (as I’m sure you can appreciate) that could all change tomorrow after discovering something new.:)

Recently bought a lionSTEEL Gitano in olive wood and love it. :)

Mini Bugout is pretty short...

The Micro Recon 1 from CS is shorter yet...

Think the shortest thing on my list is a replacement SAK Rambler.

I have no use for anything shorter that that though, sorry. ;)

I had looked at these but the handle put me off at first glance. How do you find the handle/ergos?

Did a review here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/lionsteel-gitano-gt01-ul.1739245/

But I didn't really touch on the ergos in that. I really like the feel of this knife. I wear a large glove and it fits me well. My first two fingers do most of the gripping and then the handle just sort of disappears in my fingers. The little circle at the end sits outside my pinky.

If you have more specific questions, by all means, ask in that review thread! I know it's all subjective but the knife has really grown on me. :)

I’m waiting for a new drop of ProTech Newport Tuxedos. I already talked with ProTech and although there’s no timeframe, they said sooner or later they’ll do another run.

There’s a specific Medford Infraction build that I passed on twice in the Exchange. I keep hoping another will show up at the same time I have money to blow—chances of both happening simultaneously are slim, but hey, it’s possible!

I’ve always liked Mike’s slippies and come close to pulling the trigger a few times. I just don’t see one displacing something else out of my pocket.
