Whats so special about Randall's

I am fairly new in the knife collecting biz but have seen the prices that the Randall's are fetching. I like the looks but am confused with the pricing with all the other good knives in existence. Can someone help me with this question? Thanks
 
The fact that Randall presently has a nearly 5 year backlog of orders may have something to do with it. I'm sure there's more to it though.
