What's SOG's toughest folder with a pocket clip?

The Tomcat does not have a clip, but it is made very well. I would say the toughest would have to be the Vision, since the Night Vision has been discontinued. They were both the same knife except the Vision has TI handles and the Night Vision has G-10.

I have a N.V. I have carried since 02 and it is still solid as a rock and still scary sharp.

P.S. Though the Flash II is quite a tough knife.......oh gosh, this is just too hard.............. :p

You know, I can't really say for sure since I don't own either one of those. But I would guess since they are zytel handles they would be pretty tough. They too are arclocks, and I have examined them closely, but I have never gave them a workout.

I really like the ATS-34 blades in the Vision series. I know I have opened and closed mine thousands of times with no problems at all. I think the night vision is one of the smoothest knives I have ever handled. A person can still find a few of the N.V.s listed for sale around and they usually run about $120 or so.

Fulloflead, I just wanted to comment on your avatar. Mitch was the best, and I was crushed when I got the news of his passing. During a very dark time in my life this past fall (after breaking up with the only true love I've ever known), the only thing that could make me smile was listening to his CDs. He was a comic genius that passed way too soon. I still listen to him on the daily basis, but the hilarity is now accompanied by a tinge of sadness. "If you're ever lost in the woods, f*ck it; build a house." Words to live by.

If you are looking for a tough folder with a pocket clip Robbie is on the right track. I would recommend one of our Arc-Lock knives, either the Vision or Pentagon Elite II. The PE II may be too big for some people but it has the thickest steel stock of all of our folders with pocket clips (.160"). Also the PE II has stainless steel lines under the Zytel handles.

My suggestion would be to go with the PE II, but the Vision won't let you down either.

Hi Fulloflead,

I have had the P Elite, as well as the Ti Vision.
The Ti Vision in my opinion is the finest SOG folder made to date.
It is built like a tank, and is very ergonomic.

Stainless liners with Ti Slabs, ATS 34 blade, buttery smooth on open and close.

The only issue I have with it (which really is not an issue) is that if you like clip carry, it rides a little high. (Visually, it sits about an inch out of your pocket.)

It weighs slightly more than for example a lrg. Seb, but is thinner than one.

I like mine a lot. Big Kudos to SOG for the design breakthrough on it.
