What's the 2nd most important thing to carry with a flashlight?

It's a bandanna from Nitecore, where you can attach up to three small flashlights - one in the front and one on each side. It weighs only 40 g(!!) and fits in any nook of your pack. And why should you carry it?

Let me give you a practical example. Last night I was at the gym when all the neighborhood went dark. I was with my grab bag, with my Fenix PD30+, so the dark was not a problem. I got home and power was out at my house too. So I showered, using the PD30+, and then using the bandanna, fixed my supper and ate comfortably with both hands free. It does look geeky in daylight, but in the dark, to have both of your hands free while still being able to illuminate what you're working on is terrific.

If you want, you can even fit up to three flashlights on the bandanna, for ubber light power, but honestly, just one good light, either my PD30 or my Quark AA2, was all the light I needed. Considering the size and weight, if you carry a small flashlight (anything that uses one or two AA or CR123 and doesn't have a wide head or tail will fit through the loops) I think this is a must carry for your grab bag/BOB/EDC bag .

PS: Sorry for the not so good pictures, but it was hard to use the camera in front of the mirror when you can't exactly look at what you're doing. I'm MUCH more handsome in person :p.

PPS: If this is the second most important accessory to carry with a flashlight, what would be the first most important accessory?
Spare batteries :D.

Good idea. Much lighter than a headlamp and a maratac or ITP AAA would be perfect coming off a key chain.

I find that most lights fit quite well wedged into a belt loop, particularly lights that use P60 drop-ins, as well as use CR123s. It's not perfect, as the angle is sometimes a bit low, but it works well for my needs.

What I liked about this bandanna is that if you put the flashlight on the front loop you can angle the light to illuminate exactly where your hands are, just like those headlamps with a swivel for the head. And you can carry it around without it being a bother.

Fenix also has a setup like this, but with theirs you can angle the flashlight in all three positions. It also looks very good, and Nutnfancy spoke very well about it in his video review, but it has some plastic solid parts, that will take up more space in your bag.

Yeah, I agree with srobin59, though I carry a .38 special +p Ruger LCR. If I have to hold the light in my teeth for a minute or two then so be it. ;)

That being said (in jest) I agree that a hands-free option for your EDC light is a HUGE plus.

I've got the Fenix version too, as well as their bike handle bar mounts. First time seeing this one. Thanks for sharing.

I usually just clip the light to a hat....

That works if you wear a hat. I only occasionally wear a ball cap if I'm in bright sunlight. The rest of the time it just messes up my lovely hairdo! LOL;)
Seriously though, caps and hats tend to give me headaches so I wear them sparingly. Headbands like this, although they tend to look a bit dorky, are more practical for me. When I was living in my condo apt I'd BBQ on my balcony at night and use my Princeton Tec headband light to see what I was doing.
