I swear there is some kind of a draw to large sebenza for me I keep trading to strider sng or smf then I play with the strider for the week and then trade back for another sebenza. Am I crazy or what.

Not crazy at all. If I had to guess, I would say your body is trying to expunge the tacticooloverbuilthardusebatonfeatherstick koolaid.
CRK is still the yardstick.
If I wanted a knife with some "tactical, hard use" tiger stripes on the blade, I would consider a Burger. The Mall ninjas are gaga for them.
I prefer to sit at the adult table with my precision assembled Reeve edged tool.
All kidding aside, I agree with you. I've dallied with the other brands, but at the end of the day I reach for the Sebbie.

Cheers

It's hard to say really. See if you keep doing it over and over...... That has a different definition than crazy though. :p:thumbup:

Yeah it's called insanity!! Lol

It's just fun buying and trading really

I have NEVER been without a CRK since I got my first one. Never been without a Sebenza either. I have tried other companies like Strider and Hinderer, but soon after, I end up selling them off and buy more CRK. CRK is where its at...!!! Striders don't hold a candle, let alone even the flame to Any CRK. Hinderer are nice, but I will still go with CRK any day of the week, in Any Dimension.....!!!

I've put forth the notion before that I think Chris puts some sort of South African juju spell on these knives.
Once I started really looking at them it was like I was in some sort of hypnotized daze for weeks. Seriously.
Am I the only one who's felt that?

There are 4 NIB beautiful CRKs on the fs exchange now. Do I need another 1... no, do I want 1 Yes.

I just got 1 cgg a few days ago. I haven't had it this bad for quite a while.

I have a large reg coming in this week in a trade, hopefully, that should be enough for quite while.

Is there a magic potion I can take to stop the madness....:D

I LOVE CRK Knives. I too, have felt this hypnotic daze--no joke and no sarcasm!

I sometimes wonder if I AM a little cuckoo with how much time I spend thinking, looking, contemplating, posting, holding, fondling, CRK's.

I hear ya with not needing more, but wanting more. If I could fund them, I would easily have double, or triple, or Quad of what I already have........and that would be ALOT....!
I am tapped out though. With buying a UTV and my Dog's Surgery, I will be tapped out for a considerable length of time........lol. But I still LOOK though....!!!

Got myself one SnG, just to see what it is all about.
I still have it, in a felt pouch, where I keep it.
Sometimes i take a look at it and compare it to a large Sebenza.
There you have it, "I compare it to".

Well, you're not crazy at the moment, but it sounds like you were when you traded a CRK for a Strider:D

I hope you're cured for good this time :p

It only takes one to get hooked for sure. Every new purchase or trade is a shot in the arm. Wow just writing about got to find a new one. Gotta go!!!!

I feel the same way, I have felt curious about trying other brands and I have but I keep coming back to CRK, it looks clean, simple and yet elegant and sometimes even exotic, great design, easy to clean and maintain Some makers like strider over do it in my opinion,on the other hand, let's say spyderco, feels cheap after handling a sebenza. They are still good brands and quality, but just don't compare with a CRK.

Never understood why a Strider SMF (half Ti/half G10 handle/similar blade steel) is considered "harder use" than a Large Sebbie (all Ti handle). If anything, I'd consider the Strider a weaker design based on the handle. A Strider is pretty nice to use when you are wearing heavy winter gloves and hacking at ice though! Anyhow...

I'm on a strict 1-in-1-out policy now and have a limit of 5 (figuring I could use one every decade and be set until I'm 90+). I have a collection now such that, I'd have a hard time getting rid of any one knife for another. There's one on the exchange I like... but I can't figure out which one of mine to ditch for it! Yeah, life is rough.

Earlier this year I had gotten bit by the Hinderer bug. I had already had a Large insingo with micarta and loved the thing. After I dressed up the Hinderer with CF scale and bronzed standoffs, I got the bug to search for a sebenza 25. They were just coming out en masse and the reviews were great. I was so drawn to the 25 that I decided to trade the hinderer for it. I was offered a 25 + $400 cash. I couldn't pass that up! I am now still wanting a hinderer but luckily prices are coming down quite a bit (I have been seeing them sell in the mid $500s on the exchange). I just traded into a zt0561 so I think I am going to see if that holds me back from buying an XM for a while. One thing I know, no matter what other knives I have, that 25 is just the greatest knife I have ever had, it just fits my uses perfectly!

Got my belly full of Strider when about half of 'em have blade play.
Acceptable for some... not me.

Chris Reeve Knives are table price every day, no need for a lottery for a chance to buy one. I love that.

You are not crazy. For me I am really drawn to the look and feel of the knives, the knowledge that the grinds are consistent, and that I can maintain and clean it myself. The warranty from CRK makes it even better.
