I had a little extra time on my hands (Today is a holiday in the US) so I sat down with my collection to try to figure out whether I was predominately collecting current production items or antiques. The average age for my collection came out to about 37 years which makes me an antiques collector. What about the rest of you?

WOW 37 years! Mine average out to about 4 I guess. I like new Hi-Tech stuff

That averaging would take me an awful long time and a lot of remembering. My knives primarily span the last 100 years. Up until about 6 months ago my average would have been 45 years. I've been busy since then and have probably reduced that to 30.

My average is about 25 years with about a third being older antique knives and the rest mostly modern tactical pieces.

On average my knives are younger than I am, which makes me feel young at heart! If I acquired just one 10,000 year old stone knife, though, I wouldn't be able to say that any more....

You're only as mature as you act, anyway. I'll always be immature at heart....

Within the last 3 years.
I too, like modern knives and technology.
Go figure.
