SAK's, Opinel models, neck knives, small pocket folders, budget fixed blades. What's the best knife you've ever bought (New in Box) for $20.00?

It would have to be my Arclite. Bought it at the New York State Fair, 20 bucks, sales tax free.

For $20, at Sears, I bought a large stockman with wood handles and brass bolsters, made by Camillus. It's 4" long closed, and came very sharp with no blade wiggle. It's comparable to the Texas Rangers stockman Camillus sells. So far it's stayed sharp through a variety of tasks, including light whittling, and hasn't shown any wear from the bunch of other things it sits in a pocket with. I've definitely paid more for less.

CRKT Point Guard. I don't trust the lock worth a damn, but I leave it in the car for cutting up gritty, huge boxes on recycling runs.

CRKT close-out Mirages, many of them as gifts. The arc-lite should be in there too.

Most used though? Leatherman Micra.

Leatherman Micra, and Victorinox Cadet (meant to get a Soldier, oops:(). Both under $20, well-made, and usable.

For me, other than a multi blade folders (Schrade Old Timer, Victorinox, Aitor and Wenger models), it's been the Camillus Arclite and the CRKT F4. Another would be one that my brother in the States bought and sent to me, the Buck Daimondback.

Have several Camillus folders from Smokey Mountain Knife Works. Have them in stainless steel, and they are hard to beat.

I'll go with some old Smokey Mtn Closeouts of Camillus products I picked up about 10 years ago.

I have an old Parker marked benchmade (Seiki City) that I picked up about 6 years ago from a distributor who was getting rid of them. This one takes the cake though. Heck of a nice knife. Lock is at the top of the bolster as studs on the backspring.

A Case CV yellow jacket sodbuster jr.

Who would have belived that case made a knife you could USE?

old timer sharp finger, the carbon steel ones that take a wicked edge.I bought on sale at k mart for $9.99 several years back .I got two for $20.

I have several that fall into this catagory.
In no particular order they are:

the Cold Steel Spike- This is an outstanding Barry Dawson designed necker. Scary sharp OOB.

Camillus ArcLite neck knife- Darrell Ralph design. Need I say more?

Schrade carbon steel Sharpfinger- a steal.

Spyderco "Q"- well worth the price just for it's uniqueness.

CRK&T "Stiff KISS"- Halligan designed. nice knife!
