What's the best knife you've ever found? I was out trapping one day and found a "genuine" large Case folder with real antler handles. I passed it along to one of my sons who proomptly lost it again. :(

Wow, I've never found a really good knife, but I lost a Buck 110 in the woods when I was a kid. If anyone here picked up a nice Buck 110 in the woods by Maple Ave in LaSalle back in the late 80's, let me know! I want my knife back! :p :p :p

The best knife I ever found was a barlow. I had lost it playing in our woods when I was a kid. I found it about 15 years later when I was rabbit hunting. It was rusted badly, but it was nice to find it.

Many years ago, I found a Buck 110 in the breakdown lane on the turnpike. I broke down, coasted to a stop and there it was. The blade was open, no damage. Still have it.

I found a Spyderco Ladybug years ago on the side of a highway. I EDC'd it for a couple of years. I've lost it though, but I think its some where inside my house.

My cousin lost his Case hunting knife hunting one year. I was lucky to walk over it in a grass field the following week.
My brother and I found a cheap SAK knock off stuck in s tree infront of a restaurant.
My brother had a good find when he was working in the Navy. A Benchmade CQC 7. It is beat up from heavy use but still functioning.

I found a benchmade CQC-7 in a culdesac when I was like 16. I traded it for a benchmade AFCK which I still have and use. The guy I traded the CQ to has since lost it. I was amazed when I saw it just laying on the asphalt. What a find.

Twin bladed peanut marked Chicago Cutlery found in the 7-11 that I was working in over 25 years ago. Lost it about five years later.

A Case Peanut with candy-stripe handles. Still have the knife, but the shield fell out somewhere.

A friend of mine found a second-generation Phrobis M9 while working in the desert. I traded a 12-pack of beer for it. Still have that knife too.

Wife found a Buck 110 at a state park and gave it to me. Yep, still have that one too.

Lost, an Old Timer, BuckLite, and a mountain of Opinels.

I found this exact knife, except with black grips, in my front yard one morning! Looked as though it had never been used. Asked all my neighbors, but no one was missing it, so, I still have it. Very nice knife, though a bit bulky for an EDC, I keep it in my small Camelback backpack which I keep in my truck.

I lost a Victorinox Safari. Months later, I found a Victorinox Safari along a river bank. It was not the same knife. The Safari is/was a fairly obscure model.

My benchmade CQC-7:cool: I lost it about a half dozen times when I was working on an ambulance, still have it and it is still going strong.

I've never found a knife at all that I can remember...unfortunately, I've lost a few...:D

Ray :)

I found a Case Yellow handle Trapper in a ditch while surveying the North Myrtle Beach Sewer Treatment Plant. It was rusted shut and had to be opened the first time using pliers. Since we were out of town I spent a couple nights cleaning and oiling it while drinking beer with the guys in the hotel room. Except for some dark staining on the blade it looks like new and works fine. I don't use it because I just don't go for Trappers but I'll give to some deserving scout someday.

I found a new SAK on the street when I was like 8 years old, that was very cool :) I think that's the only knife I've ever found.

I love telling this story: Back in 1992, I found a SAK Huntsman on a street in our neighborhood in Seattle; worked fine, but missing one scale. I later re-scaled it with Philippine mahogany, and carried for 15 years. Last year, I realized it obviously needed to be retired.

I started researching which SAK to get to replace it, and lo & behold, driving home one day, I find another SAK Huntsman (almost new) laying in the road. Only difference is this one had black scales.

Another Huntsman. What are the chances of that? I feel bad for the fellow that lost it, but I feel blessed to have the knife.

thx - cpr
