I'm new to the forum and am still learning, so I hope you can forgive me for any mistakes I make :)
I'm looking to grow my collection a bit, as I only own a kershaw leek and SAK pioneer, and I want to step up and try a 'better' knife. I'm looking for something that can take a bit of abuse, heavy duty I guess, and have nailed it down to these 3 knives: manix 2, delica, and griptilian but I have no clue which one I like best.

If anyone has owned all 3 of these, which would you recommend?
Stay safe and well all.

Can't go wrong with a S30V Manix 2 and 551 Griptilian both have really strong locks.I have a bias towards benchmade as they are able to offer blade replacements and the fully servicing of knives.

Thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards the manix 2 lw over the grip becuase I have heard alot of people have trouble with the axis locks omega springs breaking. And it's a big hassle to send knives overseas for me as I live in new zealand. I like the look of the grip so much tho

I've owned all the above, only I still have is my grip.

Manix is a great knife though, just preferred the grip more.

For me the delica was way too small

Interesting. Do the handles on these knives feel cheap? And how does the manix carry becuase it looks huge. Thanks :)

Also just read that your from NZ, benchmade will ship parts to you free of charge so you don't have to send the whole knife to them.

I'm in Canada and we would risk confiscation if we shipped our knives to them.

Oh that's great! I never knew this.

Of the three, I prefer the Delica (or Endela/Endura for longer blades). Lightweight, but solid feel. The Spyderco FRN has kind of a tough, but rich feel to it. Hard to describe until in hand. Unlike the hard plastic feel of the Manix LW. I also found the Manix to be a huge pocket hog. I know Spyderco puts out a lot of leaf shape blades, but the Manix is just FAT. Other than that, it is a fantastic knife if ok on above points. Though, if considering the Manix because it appears to be similar to Benchmade Axis....it's not. If you like the Axis, the Grip is a good option. But for some reasons I really can't put my finger on, I just never warmed up to that model.

To me the handles on the LW manix did feel a little cheap, but it is a very comfy knife.

The cheaper grips(mines in 154cm, so it's kinda old) also have a plastic handle that doesn't feel rock solid. But it fills the hand better for me. The manix is pretty thin

I don't like the feel of plastic so the manix probably isint to good, and me having smaller hands the manix is probably waaay to big then. Sounds stupid but the delica lock just seems a bit boring to me lol, although I do love the look of the delica.

Would anyone happen to have a pic of all 3 knives besides a kershaw leek? It would give a great idea of the size and really help narrow it down :) glad I joined the forum, you guys are so helpful!

Don't forget about blade grinds. The Manix has a full flat grinded, leaf shape blade while the Griptilian has a saber ground with a clip style blade which is a bit more strong when abused.

Another is the Manix has out of the box is a solid quality knife with full skeletonized steel liners and G-10 scales. The Grip on the other hand has handle made of strong Noryl GTX plastic handles but with partial liners. The most common complaint is the plastic handle make a loud plasticky sound that is annoying. The good part is there several maker producing aftermarket scales that solve this.

Nah. The Manix "LW" is a pinned, linerless, hard plastic. Don't remember the acronym they use. No doubt it's solid enough. Just not my fav.

Correct, can take the blade out so you can clean but that's it. Another reason I wasn't a huge fan of the LW version of the manix

This is a tough decision lol. I like the griptilians blade shape and grind the best I think. The grip would fit my hand the best too I think, but the lock turns me off as becuase I've heard the omega springs break, so out of all the locks the manix is probably my fav, I'm not worried that it can't be dissasebling. I like the delica a lot minus the lock.

For a user I would go either for the griptilian or the manix
The Delica is a good edc knife and it is a user but it is clearly the most delicate () of the 3 you are interested in

i would pick the griptilian for me as IMO it will be the most versatile.
More compact and easier to carry than the manix but very capable
dor sure the gravity handles feels cheap but I kinda like them because they keep the knife light... but nothing fun or enjoyable for sure.
I had some BM , including some griptilian, and never had problems with the springs.
and actually I am planning to get a basic 551bk as a user for myself

the manix will take more room in your pocket but will be the strongest.
And if you put some cash into it you can get some crazy steels for the manix

I would get an Endela. It is an exact split between the Delica and the Endura. Out of the three choices I'd take the Delica. Ive had Grips both blade styles and both handle materials. If you're going to go grip I STRONGLY prefer the DLT exvlusive but it is pretty pricey. I traded all my grips and still have two Delicas. I love Spyderco but have never liked the Manix. It just doesn't feel right to me.

That being said if it were Delica Size you were looking for id take both the ZT0357 (assuming assisted is legal where you are) and the Hogue Deka over it. Its a new sever ending circle brother.

What are you planning to use the knife for? IMO you're probably not going to break a Delica but it's possible depending on what you're planning on doing with it. I'm sure we can give you some sweet suggestions you may not even know exist yet.

Good luck brother!!

I don't have the cash to put into the manix but that's ok becuase steels don't worry me, I Can sharpen fine.
I think the griptilian will be the way to go, it's well in my budget, a good size and I like the look of it. I think since I'm slowly turning into a knife nut I'll end up with all 3 eventually ;)

Yeah the manix is out of the question now lol, I think out of the delica and the grip I'd choose the grip, purely becuase I like the action.

I will be using the knife for edc so it's gotta be pocket freindly, I do alot of restoration work on antiques so will probably be cutting cloth, wood veneer, marking lines onto wood, probably a bit of scraping old glue off, and other stuff like cutting boxes, string etc. Not super hard use but it will get used a alot.

If there are any other knives I don't know about I'd be super happy to know :)
