What's the Best Place to get a Sheath for your Busse?

Hi everybody,

I hope you're all doing well. I've searched a bit on this topic and I haven't found much. I know of two sheath-makers (Kydex) that make sheaths for Busse Knives, Mashed Cat and Godspeed Tactical. I'm looking for some recommendations, I've got four knives that need sheaths and I'd like to know what all your knives are wearing. You hear a lot about Busse knives but not so much about their sheaths.

Is there anybody good here on the forums that you'd recommend? I'd like to hang onto my knives but I know I may have to send them out for fitting.

P.S. Does anyone know what it's called when sheaths for larger knives have a cut out on one side so they can come out easier.
(I hope I explained that right.)
 
Al Welke and Buy Brown makes very good sheaths for your Busse and Kin can't go wrong with Mashed Cat and Godspeed tactical either. The sheath with the cut out your referring to is called an open spine sheath. Hope this helps.
 
My fav is mashed cat for kydex. Isnt much he cant do. Leather can have a longer wait time but leatherman and chuddybear put out some of the nicest custom leather $ can buy. Also kenny rowe is a legend. The sheath forum will give you a many options to chose from as well.

Also, When using search feature. maybe use the terms kydex+sheath or leather+sheath and be sure to check the search title only box. Should be endless amounts of info.
 
Azwelke has made five kydex sheaths for me over the last few months and they have all been well made. His website is easy to navigate and order from and he has many of the Busse blades on hand.. I've also had some very nice leather work done by Kenny Rowe in years past. Can't go wrong with either of these. Heard great things about Buy Brown too.
 
It is Morgan freeman and everytime he narrates something or explains something he earns a freckle for his good deeds. Anyway rain walker sheaths , skystorm, martain sheaths. Just some I haven't seen mentioned .
 
You never know who is on the other side of the keyboard.

Any of the above listed makers do great work. Cant really go wrong with any of them. Dave at Buy Brown is the man when it comes to open spine sheaths IMO.

That would be the Buy Brown Original designed Exposed spine sheath :)
E-mail me if I can help you, I do have quite a few Busse, Swamp rat and Scrapyard knives in house so you will not have to send them in.

Morgan Freeman. He should be able to just go through the wormhole and pick up a knife sheath from another dimension. :D
 
Eric Lind from Mashed Cat is my goto guy for my custom Kydex sheaths. The quality of his sheaths have never disappoint me.

I also have a Kydex sheath from Okuden which came with the NARK I bought off the Exchange. The quality this Okuden sheath is just as impressive. I trust you will not be disappointed too.
 
Well, looks like everyone has touched on both kydex and leather benders but I did think of one other leather worker. KELLY CUSTOM LEATHER, makes a real fine pouch type sheath. :cool:
 
Another Buy Brown fan here (David Brown), makes a fantastic sheath. Plus, he is always doing nice things for others on here. Always a giver.

I have owned several makers. Mashed Cat, Az Welke, and have used some others (Okuden makes a mean sheath too, but not sure about his turn around time, as I was using a passarround straight handled steel heart).

Mashed Cat and Az Welke were both fantastic sheaths too.

I have purchased from Buy Brown, Kelley Custom Leather and Skystorm and recommend all of them highly.
