Sooooo Yeah the title says it all.

What is the best portable camp stove and cook set that can fit in a 10x4 bottle carrier?
Is there one ?
Is there one that will fit in a 12x5 thats a way better choice ?
What is the least dangerous type of stove/fuel to transport, and is that kind efficient enough to bother with it?

I am totally new when it comes to whats out there now for stoves, fuels, and cooksets for backpacking, hiking.
ALL help appreciated.

If by that you mean 10"×4" then I would say either an MSR Whisperlite or Dragonfly - I've used both those stoves extensively and if you get the multifuel versions you can use regular gasoline as well as Coleman gas. They also work really well for winter camping 'cause they don't freeze up like the canister type stoves. The stove part is small enough to go inside your cookset and you can get different size fuel bottles depending on your needs, tho the small one is big enough for a few days in the woods. I've also heard a lot of good things about JetBoil right here in NH. If you're not hiking at altitude or in cold weather a canister stove might suit your needs but I like the flexibility of the MSR's. If you travel you can take the empty fuel bottle with you and fill it up when you get where you're going, not easy with a lot of the other stoves out there.
Just read your post again - maybe the JetBoil would be the way to go for your space requirements.

Granite, Im going to have one bottle holder that has a 32 or 40 oz bottle and cup/micro pot and one bottle holder thats just for a stove/nesting cook set, if thats doable. Im trying to make a all round get out there bag from a Maxped, Colossus and some accessories. I really like that pack for a hiker, since I can get at most everything without taking it off, and it can be re positioned in multiple ways. If my original request isnt possible, I can figure something else out, based on people recommendations.
Thanks for the input man.

What do you plan on cooking?

Let me toss some ideas at you as far as the side that is actually going to be carrying a bottle. The Guyot Backpacker model (the 32oz one) that tapers at the bottom fits perfectly inside the Stanley cookpot thing they recently put out. You can then put a ss glacier cup on the bottom of that, or, if you are feeling really froggy, one of the taller cups from the Pathfinder School that Dave Canterbury is always showing off (a darn fine cup, similar to the glacier only taller). That would give you a total of 3 cooking containers right off the bat.

If you are at less than 10,000', then i can HIGHLY recommend this one. We have 3 of them. Work excellent & boil 1L of water in about 3 min. Around $25.

Primus Classic Trail Stove Item #72304 at the Camp more often place.

Like Derek said, Stanley coolest, but the handle would be problematic unless you take it off for the pouch. That, a glacier cup and an MSR pocket rocket should do ya. My favorite is the jetboil, but I don't think it'd fit.

I have the guyot/stanley/gsi setup in my 10x4 with an Emberlit UL(titanium) in an attached pouc along with a fire kit and a few.other things. curently i have a mag pouch on one side and a maxped edc pouch on the other. gonna switch out the edc pouch for either a 5.11 6.6 pouch or a maxped medium tactile pouch so i have more room--i use this setup for day hikes and scouting.

http://www.jetboil.com Compact systems, lots of testimonials from Afghanistan to Sierra del Torre.

I have the Jetboil Flash and it is great. I just used it this week camping at around 8500 ft. I love the way it all stacks inside the main vessel and heats up super fast. It is honestly one of my favorite pieces of kit. I use it to boil water for dehydrated food, coffee/hot chocolate, cook soup, and it has an attachment that allows you to use other pots/pans with the burner. Very well made and light weight.

The stripes on the side change color to show you when it is at a boil.

I might have one or two that'd work. Pics when I can get to 'em...

Alright to help clear things up because It seems I am not great at giving enough details of what I am looking for..lol You guys have been a great help, but I didnt exactly give a lot of info to go on.
I want a water boiling system for drinks, noodles and coffee basically. Not looking for a cook a camp meal kinda set up, just a basic, get something hot in you when out and about stove. I was looking at wood gas, twig stoves, and different fuels.
I think I may have settled on my set up now based on yours and Dereks feedback, so thanks a ton !
