You know the kind I mean - Rambo style double edge knives with all kinds useful and not so useful gear inside the handle ....

I guess CRK makes the best hollow handled knives, but there are other knives with hollow handle slabs that you can fit stuff into (Becker???). Cheapest without being complete crap is probably the CS Bushman.

I personally suggest spending less money, and get a sheath with decently sized pockets. Like the becker patrol bowien

If you like the hollow handle,go with Chris Reeve.I love mine. There are several models to choose from and they are as tough as any other fixed blade on the market.

I gotta weigh in and support CRK as well. I currently have two of his knives, the Aviator and Project one. They're both tough as nails, never fail knives, and he has excellent customer service IMO.

The only knifemaker that produces knives with hollow handle I heart good words about is Chris Reeve. However, as Walking Man suggested, I agree that sheath with large pocket might work very well. At least I think you have higher chance to lose your knife than its sheath. In addition to this you will have larger choice of knives to select and probably can add more items into your PSK.

I´m not particularly fond of those but I have the small Aitor Jungle King which isn´t bad at all despite having a plastic handle. I believe the larger hollow handle Aitors have metal handles and I know some people consider them quite good.

Its pretty much all "relative". you can survive with a cheap small colonial stockman if you have too. Its not so much the knife as it is your ability to survive. I was active duty AF for 8 years, 88-96 (before becoming disabled), spent 6 months in Desert shield/storm. I worked in survival equipment. The knives we used for the pilots, were the ontario (and camillus) issue pilots knives. The knives we used for "over water" flight survival kits were the four blade metal utility issue knives and the "floating issue raft knife. The knives we used in the parachute kits were the hook blade knife for the shroud lines, and the survival kit knife was the small cheap issue three blade colonial stockmans. The best kind of survival knife is the one in the hands of someone who knows what to do with it. That's just the honest truth.

The Randall Model 18 Attack & Survival is a high performance, hollow handled fixed blade designed for wilderness survival. The handle can be wrapped with paracord, fishing line, leather, or left as is.

Available in high carbon 01 tool steel or 440B Stainless Steel, 5.5 or 7.5in blade lengths.

Otherwise, the CRK one piece knives are excellent, as noted.

I really like my survival knife to have sawteeth like on the Tracker Knife, I heard TOPS model is the only one available now.

If you have the funds, get yourself a Robert Parrish Survival. ;) :D

He did. That's why it takes some "funds" to get your hands on one. :D
