Ok,
Im working on paying off this knife I ordered from knifemaker Art Washburn ( www.adwcustomknives.com ) and cannot figure out a wat to carry it. While it is an Art Knife (in more ways than one) I still want to carry it from time to time. When asked whether i could/should use it, Arts reply was yes,i should. I dont want to let him down.

Its small, 2.5 inches close, and 4.25 open...thats where the difficulty is. How can i carry a knife this small, but still maintain easy access? I would appreciate your opinions on this issue.

Here is a pic borrowed fromm www.adwcustomknives.com

purchaser of fine knives :D

You cant see it in the picture, but this is a liner lock with a damascus thumbstud.

Also, the blade has a starry type of pattern, with striped scales (Guess what it's called)

maurice, that is really cool no options for carry fm me. but is there a clip? and like wat samhell said, i guess a sheath is probably best. how much did it cost u man?

*snort!*
BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
:D

I'd suggest some sort of lined, vertical, belt holster. Pocket carry in or out of a sheath is going to expose it to a lot of moisture.

Any chance of getting him to add a lanyard hole? Little folders work well with a fob to pull it out of your pocket.

I would probably try and find a William Henry slip sheath with clip that would fit it. I don't know off hand if they made them for their smaller knives (ie. Kestrel). Where there is a will, there's a way. What a fine little jewel.

I'd call a custom leather sheath maker (knife is too artsy for a tactical, molded sheath). Here's the website for one I found while surfing around in my free time (his stuff looks really nice): http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Cabin/7306/blades.html

Good luck, and nice knife!

PS: My idea would be a pocket pouch with a clip set high. You could clip it inside your pocket to keep it away from outside hazards, have it in a pouch to keep your key from scratching, and have it clipped to allow easy removal from the pouch.

Or get a little slip sheath made for it. Too small for belt carry, IMO.
Gorgeous little knife. I'm jealous:(

You need a small leather slip sheath, or one with a flap on top to keep dirt out of the liner. Talk to Gary Graley. I carry my daily carry knives in the bottom of my pocket this way. No, it is not terribly tactical, but it really does not take very long to gain access to the knife.

Great little knife Mo. I'm really jealous. Even though it is an 'art' knife, you will get enormous satisfaction out of carrying and using a knife like that. If you bought it to use, use it!

If it gets scratched (unlikely if you are careful and get a good protective sheath/case), I'm sure Art will be glad to clean it up for you.

I would get an Allen Elishewitz Stingray pouch.

You won't get a fast draw but with a knife like that you want a LONG time to get it open it and return it to your pocket.

It gives you more time to admire it.

but keep em coming.

my thinking was along the lines of a small leather pouch, but i wanted to check all my options out before hand.
