Whats the best way to shrink a leather sheath?

Got a new fixed blade in the mail today for national knife day! Great knife , but it's loose as a goose in it's leather belt sheath, vertical carry. If I sit down it falls out! How do I tighten it up? Blade is ats 34, sheath is 1/8" leather. Thanks for your help.

My personal recommendation, make an insert for the leather sheath, far easier.

Well, you could always just wet-fit the sheath to the knife, that would at least help with retention I would think.

Any chemical solution will ruin the dye. Try wrapping the middle portion with paracord. It helps tighten it, lets you always have emergency paracord when you carry it, plus it gives a bushcrafter's look.
