I love wharncliffes and I want to try out a knew knife with a wharncliffe blade. Already have stuff from Case. Also I would like it to be within the 30-40 dollar range. Doesn't matter if locking, non-locking, tactical, or traditional. Thanks for the help.

For less than $40, it's hard to beat the plain 13C26 Kershaw Leek.

Spydie Yojimbo 2 is an awesome modified wharncliffe.

I think you mean 14c28n ;) Not sure if the leek can be considered a true wharncliffe blade, I'd call it a modified warncliffe since the blade does have a slight amount of belly. There aren't a lot of wharncliffe blades out there, especially in the $40 price range. What are your feelings on a sheepsfoot blade?

I think Knifecenter had the plain leeks for like $35 on sale.

My favorite might be the Spyderco Ronin.
That's a wharncliffe, isn't it?

Sheepsfoot isn't pointed enough for me. I need penetration power. (Inner 12 year old is laughing right now)

Is that what they're using now? The website I was looking at must be using out of date info. And yes, it's certainly a "modified" wharncliffe, but the edge is straight enough to be appreciated by anyone who loves a straight edge. My rainbow Leek (in 440A) was one of my first "real" knives, and it forever gave me an appreciation for straighter edges.

I f you like small fixed blades, the Boker Vox Mosier is a sweet blade.

I really dig my little Spyderco Kiwi 3. Can be found for less than $25...
