Inspired by AggieJason's pic of his 18-wheeler tractor in the Spyderco forum, i got to thinking, what are the biggest/most unique vehicles you've piloted/driven?

for me, a basic civvie, it'd have to be;

Ryder 24 foot moving van (International Harvester chassis), about as close to drivin' a big-rig i've come so far
Caterpillar skid-steer bulldozer
Cessna 180 Skywagon taildragger
Honda ATC 350X, Big Red 250, and ATC 125 3-wheelers
Husquvarna 350 2-stroke dirt bike (this one was *LOADS* of fun, lots of
power on tap instantly, i *love* 2-strokers)
Yamaha Virago Midnight 920 road bike
Kubota midsize tractor
John Deere 4WD tractor (for haying our field)

what's your list?

I drove these guys around for a while at Holloman AFB.

After fire from ground accident between two F-15s released CORKER - boron composite fibers that become electromagnetically charged - and shorted out several base and local (Phoenix) electrical supply systems, all engine run and trim pad certified technicians were required to obtain F-15 taxi training to avoid a repeat of the Luke AFB incident.

I also had Class II Fight Physical and certs for flight physiological, high altitude, egress, and F-15 flight familiarization and emergency procedures in our local flight simulator. This gave me several hours of GIB time in F-15s where I’ve had the controls handed off to me after DACT (dissimilar air combat training) missions. I maintained my Class II and flew missions as safety-chase observer at Edwards AFB in USN T-2s, T-34s, and in a WWII Douglas SB-5 dive bomber when the Planes of Fame in Chino brought Jack Northrup’s N-9m up for FAA certification and training.

Back in the late 1970's I drove a big Mack garbage truck. In those days you worked a three man crew - driver and two groundmen. When the garbage was wet you could get around 45,000 lbs in one load.

A gocart I built with a 750 H2 3 cyl 2 stroke 140 HP motor with shifter from Fast By gast.
0-120 in about 15 feet.
A little faster than an f16 fighter :D

Most unique was the old half-track . We had some WW II battle repaired ones in the 2nd [Hell on Wheels ] Armored Divison at the outbreak of the Korean war. You had to drive thumbs-up 'cause it that beast hit a chuckhole ,you'd dislocate a thumb big-time. An M-1 thumb wasn't in the same league pain-wise . So many guys got hurt that there were rumblings of a courtsmartial if you screwed up.

One of those antiques with quad .50's mounted was a real weapon !

The M-113 was a bitch to install radios in. Hotter'n hell in Texas too !

Uncle Alan [Been there & did git-er-done !] ;)

Well, I caint compete with all the half-tracks, trucks, planes, etc., but my first car was one of the biggest to ever hit the road: 1967 Pontiac Catalina 4 door. This was back when Pontiac was making what they called "wide glides". It was the smoothest roomiest car I've ever been in. I could easily fit 4 people across on each bench seat, and not be cramped. The trunk would have been a mob hitman's dream.... could easily fit at least 6 bodies in there. Also was a surprisingly good performer... had a 400 cu. in. V-8 and hauled butt! I had her up to 135mph, and backed off because I got scared! Man, I really miss that car...

My Current a 2006 Oshcosh cement mixer with a 660 Cat deisel. Itl suck the snots out of a dead man:)

Vintage duece-and-a-half Army trucks (my current "office").

Farm tractors.

Some sort of truck-mounted crane.

Does a U2-H (Huey) helicopter count?.:D...If not, then it would have to be an old '69 Lincoln Contential.

Nothing to compare to the jets!!! But, whitewater kayaks thru Class IV rapids, sea kayaks with pods of hunting porpoise, my 21' sailboat when caught in 60 mph winds, and maybe a TV Live Van across the Mojave and thru the Rockies.

(I'm really jealous of the jets. I got 12 hours in between a Cessna 152 and a Piper Tomahawk... I can't even imagine flying a F15!!)
