What's the Color of Your BOSS Street Micarta

Yes, I know that it's supposed to be black canvas micarta, but I've seen a lot of variation in the slab colors of the BOSS Street photographs posted here, everthing from grey/black to speckled tan to a greenish brown.

The slabs on my own BOSS Street (sorry, no photos yet) look light tan with darker granite-like speckles, almost like the tigerhide micarta on my Sus Scrofa LE (I'm NOT complaining - i really LIKE the tan/black combo look of the slabs and coating). Even when wet or oiled, the slabs look brownish green, not black like other black canvas micarta I've owned.

I'm curious as to why the variation of color on the standard black micarta slabs - any explanations, observations, comments, or opinions from you other BOSS Streeters out there?

Thanks,
"Bloody Bill"

It's depends on the camera that took it, lighting and the settings etc.

They are black. :)

Sanding down a busse micarta handle will make it much more black, looking.
at least in my experience

Mine definitely started green

They're taking on more of a dirt-ish hue as more dirt gets worked into them though. Go figure. :D

I got two and they're different. I like the lighter one better, but the darker one matches the handle on my BW better. :D

I would say Greg's picture pretty soundly proved this wrong. There is HUGE variation in the colors of Busse micarta handles.

I picked up a number of the micarta handled Vex's at Blade and picked out one that had a handle tone I liked. They were all over the place.
