Quick question as I was getting a little curious after asking everyone what they were getting for the new Busse BJ's? I have been noticing more and more on this forum as well seeing pictures and seeing what people are buying... and although I love it on for example: the RMDx LE (fits perfectly) I just received recently... and have another blade same. It seems like a large majority of people select black paper as their 1st choice... and i dont think it is due to it being the cheapest option of the three. Personally, I LOVE the black canvas micarta and the tan that are on so many rat offerings. Dont even get me started on the G10's... with the multi color(s)/ black. Its almost too hard to choose. What do you folks think about blk paper? What do you prefer? Thx. :)

Love BP. I dislike G10 as a rule. It seems slick to me. And plastic-looking. Black paper has a matte black appearance and grips like micarta. All the traits I love.

hate bp, I'll go with canvas or g-10 first any day of the week.

I like the rich color and fine grain of paper micarta. It just so happens they're only offering black paper, so that's what I went for on an LE. I am not a fan of G10 partly because, like Dennis above, I find it plastic and manufactured looking.

That said I still prefer canvas for users. It feels great and gives some traction.

I like Black paper only on 4" and smaller blades. Don't think it's good for larger blades IMO.

I find that black paper feels excellent in the hand! I have some black paper grips on my 1911, and the grip is just butter. G-10 is harder to the touch, but more durable. I am 99% sure that g-10 is some type of fiberglass composite...which would explain why it doesn't feel quite as nice as black paper. However, I have NEVER seen any g-10 loose its color; even a little. "Horses for courses," as my old man says.
