I have a Case trapper, 6254SS, with the scrolled bolsters and "5th" in a circle on the front bolster. It has the shield with "September 2005 Case XX." This is supposed to be 1 of 20.
Here's the pic.
I've not been able to really find any info on these. The paperwork in the box is standard. Did Case make a certain number for each day of the year or something? Besides a little decoration, what makes this one special? What's special about Sept. 5th, 2005?
It does have beautiful fit and finish that I would put up against any Queen, S&M, or CSC (My one CSC isn't that great in the F&F department and my Cases kick it's butt) The blades are nice and sharp out of the box, and it has good springs, just strong enough, without being too strong.
But, what's the story behind these type knives?
