what's the deal with the Buck/Mayo

is everybody else waiting for one of these? I pre-ordered one a while ago, and I am still waiting. While the dealer I am working with has been great, I am wondering what the deal is at Buck. apparently they had some QC issues and are trying to take care of the problem.

I know some people have had one -- did you get a pre-pro, or do you know somebody??

also, were there QC issues with the early ones?

I imagine that all of the preproduction hype has driven demand way above supply. Any new item takes time to penetrate the market as there are many channels to fill. The only thing that I can say for sure is that it'll be worth the wait.

I contacted Larry Oden sometime during the first part of January and received my a month or so ago. There's a fairly steady supply on ebay if you want to go that route.

IMO, you will be better off waiting, so the pocket clip will be fixed plus I'm sure a bunch of other issues tidied up. So yes there where some QC issues.

I just remembered I had a piece of emery cloth out to smooth up the edges of the oval thumb hole. 200% more confortable opening now.

What was wrong with the clip?

The clip was very hard to put in the pocket due to tightness. Also it didn't curve up at the tip of the clip enough to easily clip to the pocket. The Sebenza is an example of a well thought out design. Even on some of Tom's TNT's you need to tweak the clip a little to be a little more pocket friendly.
